Andrea Falco, Counsellor and AOK Board Member, is running the Vancouver Half on June 23rd as a fundraiser to remove financial barriers that can improve the mental health of children & youth in Vancouver.

We are thrilled to highlight one of our 2023 grant recipients: The A O K Project. This incredible initiative tackles financial barriers hindering young individuals' access to crucial mental health recovery opportunities. Through their Acts of Kindness initiative, transformative wellness grants are provided, covering courses, summer camps, healthcare needs, and more.

What sets them apart is their emphasis on reciprocity and creating Circles of Kindness. Grant recipients, encouraged to extend acts of kindness, become catalysts for positive change, fostering a community-driven cycle of compassion, gratitude, and resilience. Eligible recipients, aged up to 19 and referred by mental healthcare providers, ensure targeted and impactful support for those in need.

In essence, The AOK Project not only addresses immediate financial barriers but also cultivates a culture of kindness beyond individual recipients. By blending generosity, empowerment, and community building, it stands as a testament to the transformative potential of compassion in youth mental health.

This holiday season, The AOK Project will be distributing 150 holiday gift bags to youth across Vancouver for the 4th year in a row!

As we put together the gift bags, we are looking for contributions from the community. Some helpful items include: toiletries, hats & socks, gift cards, snacks, etc!
