Many clients in Kelowna bring in their designers from elsewhere because we have so many tools available these days to make it easy for us to work on interior design projects, even when we are physically not always in the same city. Plus, we do site visits and are always present for installations!

With our extensive network of dealers, all over the world, we brought in pieces for the project such as these French antique doors leading to the office and a one-of-a-kind Moroccan area rug. The sofa is a Hunter sofa by Montauk Sofa. Canadian built to be an heirloom, which is perfect for this client’s love of timeless pieces and nicely offsets the French antique doors. A timeless limestone mantel was chosen for the same reason, light hardwood floors that never tire and white walls that are both timeless and perfect to showcase an art collection.

Chandeliers have a long history that date back to the Azelin Chandelier 1018 A.D a Romanesque wheel chandelier, made in the 11th century for the Hildesheim Cathedral in Hildesheim, Germany. True glass chandeliers were first developed in Italy, England, France, and Bohemia in the 18th century. Original chandeliers were lit with candles and antique chandeliers we have used for clients have been converted in order to be electrified.

Love this modern organic chandelier, ideal for spaces that incorporate antique pieces or for those that are purely clean and modern. Its versatile aesthetic seamlessly blends with both traditional and contemporary elements, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to any room. No kitchen is inviting without soft ambient light. This abstract and organically designed fixture for the eating area was sourced from a small European company and beautifully marries old-world charm with modern aesthetics. The pendants were from a Belgian designer and have warm bronze tones that are throughout the kitchen and then also used throughout the home.

Urban Energy Lifestyle & Design wants every client project to be unique to each of their client’s tastes. However, we endeavour to help a client move out of their comfort zone to create more interesting eclectic spaces. For example, this client has sophisticated design taste with a love for old-world charm but was willing to incorporate more modern light fixtures in the renovation of their home to make the finished project full of distinct personality.

This client’s staircase is a single-stringer spiral staircase from the basement to the second level and is truly a work of art. Then we adorned it with a handmade stair runner that took over a year to make for the staircase.

The stair runner was designed with my input and created by STARK Carpet to seamlessly work with all of the client’s other antique area rugs we chose for the client’s home.

This client’s office is a timeless, masculine, inviting space illuminated by an Antique Empire Gilt Bronze Chandelier that has now been electrified. Antiques are actually repurposed pieces from days gone by and one can look at them as an environmentally friendly way to complete spaces. For a more eclectic feeling space, you could use this fixture in a very modern home or use a clean modern fixture to create a chic look within the same wainscoted room.

Timeless design incorporates masterfully designed pieces and works of art whether they be “fine antique pieces”, as seen in this client’s home, or in an extremely modern home where “modern masterpieces” are used and will be the antiques of the future.

Love FORNASETTI designs and I had the pleasure of finding a treasure trove of vintage Fornasetti light fixtures. This dealer is the place I will always go back to for wonderful Fornasetti vintage pieces but when the design calls for a new piece these pillows are wonderful.

Lighting sets the tone of a space…

Love these light fixtures because they are modern yet have their roots in designs from years gone by. The patina of the brass also gives them more character. They can be used in so many types of rooms from a modern dining area to an entrance with high ceilings, they offer soft ambient light as well as being illuminating sculptures for your space.
