Our buddy Mack is low key the coolest on this coast. He’s illusive like the , we couldn’t have tracked him down without and 5 days set aside to expedition through a labrynth of Pacific rock formations.
He put us up in the aft of a large that he was working out of. It was an amazing base for exploration. Just before we parted ways we checked out an old village site from below the high tide line and chased him with a drone into a windstorm to check out some thought inspiring .

That time we found an amazing cabin built into seaside bedrock! 😍
Someone crafted this beautiful cabin on a remote piece of the BC Coast. The magnificent windows reflected the surroundings and made it nearly invisible from sea.
When we stumbled upon it the door had fallen in and the west coast was taking it back over. Otters had moved in and had their way with most of the horizontal areas.
Noticing that this cabin was on public land we asked some locals what they thought of us sweeping it out and spending the night. “HA!” A renowned fishing guide proclaimed “OTTER $ #!T CAVE?! You couldn’t pay me to sleep there.”
Well the rest is history or a story for in person on a beach somewhere 🔥🏕️

A lovely rip to the end of a large Vancouver Island lake to check out a beautiful old growth ghost forest in an amazing and remote setting. It was cool to check out some lake culture at the roadside end of the lake as well :) !

After reading Not On My Watch, Heart of the Raincoast, Full Moon Flood Tide and other great books on the area. We had to go see the Broughton Archipelago for ourselves.
We did have a new drone with us but our only other camera equipment was an iphone 8 that was so out of storage it offloaded the drone software part way through the trip!
We had to fly the drone blind and hope for the best, which for the most part worked out… However, since it is illegal to capture marine mammals with the drone we had nothing except our eyes to capture one unforgettable experience where a pod of orcas swam past us and a baby orca played gently beaching itsself on and off a small island for some reason.
We can’t wait to head back in this summer with more skills and camera equipment to share this amazing world with our viewers.
