International Day of Persons with Disabilities aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in all spheres of society and development, and to increase awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
๐โ The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence! ๐๐
From November 25th to December 10th, we stand united in the global fight to end violence against women and girls. This year's theme, "Invest to Prevent Violence against Women & Girls," highlights a crucial call to action.
๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Gender-based violence affects 1 in 3 women worldwide, a crisis that escalates in emergencies and is more severe for vulnerable groups like women with disabilities, adolescents, and the elderly.
๐ด Ending Gender-Based Violence, every two days, a woman is killed in Canada, with Indigenous women facing significantly higher risks. We must recognize the signs of violence, support survivors, and take action in our communities to end this cycle of abuse
๐ฃ Let's urge our leaders to increase investments in preventing gender-based violence. Every step we take is a move towards a safer, more equal world.
Together, we can build a world where everyone is valued and safe. Let's unite in these efforts to empower, protect, and uplift every member of our community.
