🧡 Thanks to CTV for coming out to Horse Lovers' Weekend at Upper Canada Village - and shining the spotloght on Mādahòkì Farm Spirit Horses!

"Madahoki Farm houses Canada’s only Indigenous horse breed, called Ojibwe spirit horses. The breed is an endangered species with fewer than 200 in all of North America.
"Our horses are our four-legged ambassadors," said Madahoki Farm CEO Trina Simard.
"They help share a lot about our community and our connection to these traditional homelands that are now Canada."

🐴 Horse Lovers' Weekend continues on Monday, September 2nd from 9:30am to 5pm.

🐎 August is Horse Month For Mādahòkì Farm & our Ojibwe Spirit Horses!

Two of our breed ambassadors had their very first horse show on August 17, and we couldn’t be prouder! The ponies handled everything with the calmness and curiosity of their breed. Huge thanks to Ashton Belcher, our trainer, and Kaya Simard, our rider (an Ojibwe rider herself!) for showcasing the Ojibwe Spirit Horses so beautifully.

Mādahòkì Mukwa made an impressive Green Horse Debut, while Mādahòkì Anamikaage (Mika) stole the show, earning Champion in her class!

The best part? A group of young riders asking their trainer for their very own Spirit Pony. Chi-miigwetch to our amazing team!
