We're so excited about the new stories up at the Horsefly StoryWalk. We're calling it the Written Art of Public Speaking.
Once again we’re featuring local authors and orators – some of our 4-H youth! (Ashley, Justin, Reed, Samantha, and Turner)
Public speaking is one of many activities 4-H kids must participate in. For those of you who’ve been in 4-H or are parents supporting your kids in 4-H, you know how much work it is to get ready for these speeches.
You need to find an idea and then write about it in an engaging way because you’ll need to hold the audience’s attention for up to 5 minutes! That’s a lot of storytelling! You write your story, then you practice reading it. Then you realize you need to write some more to meet the time limit, and you practice reading it again. Then you do some more editing and practice performing it yet again. The final performance of your written work is in front of an audience and judges!
The youth did an amazing job. Their stories/speeches up for a week or so! Enjoy some more great local youth talent in Horsefly!
