We are deeply saddened by the tragic landslide on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at an unregulated gold mine on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia, where heavy rains have claimed the lives of at least 11 individuals and left 45 missing. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and the brave rescuers facing challenging conditions to find those still unaccounted for.
This heartbreaking event underscores the perilous conditions faced by miners in unregulated sites. We urge everyone to prioritize safety and adhere to proper protocols in all operations.

Sending heartfelt thoughts to the City of Alton, Illinois, where a massive sinkhole, estimated to be at least 30 meters wide and up to 15 meters deep, has impacted the local soccer facility. This unexpected event, caused by a limestone mine running 52 meters below the city park, is a reminder of the challenges we face with natural and man-made structures.

The Nipawin's Crooked Bridge over the Saskatchewan River was one of the largest steel bridges in Western Canada at the time of its construction in 1930. The former Canadian Pacific Railway Bridge is a double-deck plate girder design that incorporated a roadway (currently closed) immediately beneath the upper railway deck.
Do you have a story or experience to share for this bridge?
The coastal town of Ventnor (UK), was hit by a massive landslide on the evening of Sunday, December 10, 2023. The region had experienced persistent and intense rainfall over the preceding couple of months, setting the stage for a devastating geohazard that has left an indelible mark on the landscape.
