I'M A DAD, PAPA, AND EDUCATOR ASKING FOR YOUR VOTE IN THE 2022 LANGLEY SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE ELECTION
CWL suggesting that they want to level the playing field for independents by changing the policy for signage during elections on public spaces. Here is a summary of the CWL costs for signage for Langley School Board. Some say “signs don’t vote”, however, CWL actions might demonstrate something different. Love the fact that incumbent independents reused signs.
Had the pleasure of meeting Sam late last year. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations to HD Stafford on this great accomplishment. Well done!!
Great role model for our community. Well done, Joel!
I wanted to thank the 6778 voters that chose to place their trust and vote in me. I am humbled that so many chose to take someone new, with a passion for education, and support him with their vote. Unfortunately, the numbers didn't add up to enable me to serve the community and school district.
I would like to congratulate Charlie Fox, Marnie Wilson, and Tony Ward for their re-election to the board. I have spent time with all three and value their contributions to me personally during the campaign and their contributions to the school district over the past term. It has been a pleasure to get to know you and I am hopeful for many more conversations that we can have going forward.
To the newly elected trustees, I want to extend my congratulations to each one of you. I trust that you will work with the Board and District staff to move our education programs forward in Langley.
To Rod Ross and Suzanne Perreault, your knowledge, service and passion for every student and staff was evident in all our conversations. Again, I hope to continue our friendships and conversations. You will be truly missed on the board.
As I picked up my final election sign last night, (I think I got them all) ending my campaign run, I will continue to be "Here to hear". I pray that schools will become better places... for ALL students and staff.
The clock is ticking down to the end of the election campaign (October 15th - 8:00PM). It has been a great process to meet with many and hear about their family educational journey. There is work to be done and I am hopeful that I can be part of that work. I want to thank everyone that has encouraged me, supported me (with finances and their time), and help spread my name and vision in the community. Education is a pillar of our society, and although a lot focus is on the mayor and council race, trustees votes are vital to the improvement of our society.
No matter who you choose to vote for (I am asking for your vote) - PLEASE go and vote - voices need to be heard. I believe it is our responsibility to vote. I ask that everyone who would like me to serve as a school board trustee would comment, share and post to their network.
With two days left... if you haven't made up your mind about who to vote for consider Neil Turner - SD35. Learn more about me at my website https://neilturner.ca

On my drive to work this morning I am aware of the families and students heading off to school. I see them on this bright, sunny October morning excited about the day ahead. A day to learn. A day to be with friends. A day to contribute. I ponder my efforts to run for school board. This last 7 months (since deciding to run) has been a whirlwind of activity, meetings, listening, and planning. So many others have contributed time and effort encouraging me and educating me in my journey.
I pause and reflect.
I am so thankful that I have met current trustees (and candidates) that are passionate about this school district. That they are committed to helping make families and student experiences better. I can honestly say that there is a mutual respect and appreciation amongst the school board trustee candidates. Yes, we are competing to serve (and I do want to be elected) in the education system against each other. However, I believe that whoever the successful candidates are on October 15th, will roll up their sleeves and work together to make the education experience better for ALL.
I am motivated, passionate and "here to hear".
Please, make sure your vote is counted on October 15th.betterbet
I am honoured that the Langley Teachers' Association has endorsed me for the upcoming election on October 15th. I am thankful for the great conversation we had and the confidence they have shown in my nomination.

We have started a brand new school year with new expectations and hopes for our students. Langley School District has provided the following set of guidelines for reporting an issue or concern. As I speak with parents, guardians, and grandparents, there is a common thread of not knowing how to communicate effectively with teachers and administration. I want to encourage everyone, should an issue or concern arise, to follow the steps provided.
If elected to the school board, I would want to make sure that there is an accountability mechanism in place to ensure that the process is followed and that a resolution and conclusion is documented. All families should have their concerns welcomed and no person should fear communicating with their teachers or administration staff. Through honest and kind communication, we can all have our voices heard.
UPDATE FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS/STUDENTS: Please visit your school or District website or check your email to read a message from Superintendent Mal Gill to students, staff, and families regarding the closure of schools and sites on Monday, September 19, as a result of the National Day of Mourning: http://ow.ly/kEVx50KJnZl
Summer is almost over… Here is a great resource to check out.
Helpful School Guide for Parents/Guardians 2022-2023 The District welcomes new and existing students and their families to the 2022-2023 school year. To make the transition back to school easier on families, the District is sharing this guide to help support your child’s learning, as well as meet their health and safety needs.
Great job from our school district informing families about the notification service for parental outreach, emergency broadcasts, school information, student attendance alerts, secure file delivery, and other communications for education. Ensure your contact information on MyEDBC is up to date (email addresses and phone numbers).
Great to see our Langley community helping families prepare for the upcoming school year.

Projections over the next 8 years show a significant increase of student enrolment in the Langley School District. Based on the increase in property developments and future expansions, these numbers may be significantly lower than the future student enrolment. Staff at the school district are working diligently to prepare the best that they can for this increase. Funding for facilities and expenses are distributed from the Provincial government. In order to help staff and our community, we must advocate for our local schools, students and teachers.
