I used to put so much pressure on myself to perform while skiing. To always be pushing my limits. Growing. Getting better. I started skiing 8 years ago. Sometimes, only going for a few weeks a year. Now, I live in this ski town where people start skiing before they can walk. I'll never catch up, and when I've tried to catch up, I've injured myself. I've realized that looking good on skis isn't going to fulfill me. But this day, sliding amongst these marshmallow looking puffs of snow felt really nice. It was a simple morning walk with a friend. Fresh air. Alpine sunrise. And no big mission to accomplish. No pressure to look good. Sometimes I like missions - don't get me wrong - but there's something so nice about not having to perform all the time. That's what I feel I'm moving toward in every aspect of my life. Not needing to perform in any way. Just being fully myself and authentic all the time. Dharma embodied. Want to feel that way too?
