These activities not only help improve writing skills but also foster creativity, critical thinking, and a love for writing.
Last week, a mother contacted me about our reading program. Naturally, I asked about her child’s reading progress. To my surprise, she replied, “It’s for me.” This mother, despite English being her first language, couldn’t read. She shared that as a child, she was just passed through the school system, and her parents didn’t think about getting extra help. Now, as an adult who can’t read, life is incredibly hard. She has to depend on others for almost everything that requires reading, even opening a bank account.😭
This conversation was a stark reminder of how critical it is to address reading challenges early. If your child isn’t reading at their grade level, if they’re struggling with school assignments, something is wrong. Not being able to read at grade level is no joke, and parents should not take it lightly.
Why Reading Proficiency is Crucial:
👉🏽Academic Success: Reading is the foundation for all other learning. If your child struggles with reading, they’ll struggle with other subjects too.
👉🏽Future Opportunities: Strong reading skills open doors to countless opportunities, while poor reading skills can close them.
👉🏽Independence and Confidence: Reading fluently allows your child to be independent and confident in their abilities.
Our online summer reading program, starting June 17 & 18, is designed to ensure that every child can read confidently and at grade level. We’re less than two weeks away from launching a transformative experience for your child.
The future belongs to children who are prepared for it today. By investing in their reading skills now, you’re ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in life. September is just around the corner, and your child needs to level up their reading skills.

With strong reading skills come strong writing skills. Writing isn’t just about penmanship; it’s about organizing thoughts coherently on paper, embracing all dimensions of writing. ✍️ The paragraph in this post is a 100-word composition by one of our 9-year-old students, preparing for their third-grade national exam. Beyond mere intellect, this child has demonstrated remarkable competence by adhering to the paragraph structure and summarizing within the 100-word limit.
With such proficiency, the child is poised to excel in various writing formats as they grow. At Knyabi Innovative Learners, our mission is to guide children through these crucial learning stages.
Don’t wait until state or provincial exams to enrich your child’s reading or writing skills. Act now; practice leads to perfection! 📚✍️ Inbox us for registration details to join our summer reading, French, language arts, and math program, starting as early as June 17th.
Have you been told that your child in grades 1-6 is falling behind in certain core subjects at school? Maybe you have done all you possibly can to help your child, but for some reason, they just keep lagging behind. ☹️
Let me ask you a question: Have you seen your child learn something that even you yourself find difficult to figure out, such as navigating your phone or learning the words to a song in a short time, yet they have difficulty learning at school?
Could it be that your child has not grasped the foundations of the subject they are struggling with? 🤔
Could it be that your child's learning style is not being tapped into at school? 🤔
It could be so many things that are keeping your child from progressing academically.
Sadly, too often, our school districts, some teachers, and society are in too much of a rush to write off our kids, and this is just not fair. But, unfortunately, this is just the way life is, and as parents, we must never give up hope; we must fight for our children.
If this resonates with you, read on.
Let me share with you how two parents, Donna and her husband, fought for their son and fixed his reading issues. When we first started, their little boy struggled with his reading. The parents were heartbroken when they were informed that their son had an intellectual disability. However, they decided to fight for their child, refusing to accept the professional diagnosis as his fate. This was when they decided to enroll him in our reading program.
When the child started, he was reading at the pre-kindergarten level. Within three months of being in our program, the child was comfortably reading at an upper-grade 1 level.
Fast forward to this year, the child is thriving in not only our advanced reading program but our math program. Imagine if his parents hadn't decided to fight for him; perhaps he would have just been more demotivated, lost more confidence, and even fallen further behind.
Now instead of the classroom teacher telling Donna and her husband that their child is acting up at school and not keeping up with classroom instruction, they are being told that their little boy reads everything he is given and confidently brags a lot about being a bright kid. Well, I don't blame him as he has earned all bragging rights.
If you would like us to help fight for your child so that they thrive in reading, math, English, French education, and academic writing starting this summer, inbox us or visit knyabi.com to book a free, non-obligatory consultation to discuss your child's academic needs.

Did you know that encouraging children to read daily can significantly enhance their reading, spelling, and overall academic performance?
Reading is not just about decoding words; it’s about comprehending, analyzing, and internalizing written language. For many children, spelling can be a challenging aspect of literacy development. Some children may struggle with spelling due to various factors, such as:
👉🏽Phonemic Awareness: Difficulty in recognizing and manipulating the individual sounds (phonemes) in words can hinder spelling proficiency.
👉🏽Vocabulary Knowledge: Limited vocabulary can affect a child’s ability to spell unfamiliar words accurately.
👉🏽Visual Memory: Weaknesses in visual memory may make it challenging for children to recall the correct spelling of words they’ve seen before.
👉🏽Language Processing: Trouble with understanding language structures and grammar rules can lead to spelling errors.
Consider the example of mastering long vowel patterns, such as the “ie” and “igh” vowel teams. Unlike other spelling rules, these patterns, found in words like “pie,” “light,” “cried,” and “high,” can appear in the middle or end of a word. By engaging in daily reading, children not only expand their vocabulary but also internalize spelling patterns and conventions. They become adept at recognizing familiar words and understanding how different spelling patterns work within words.
It’s essential to recognize that fostering strong reading habits should be a collaborative effort between home and school environments. Both settings play crucial roles in providing opportunities for children to practice reading independently and receive guidance and support when needed.
Remember the age-old saying, “practice makes perfect”? Well, it holds true in the realm of literacy development.

Throwback of our last 🕶️ day!
A few of our 😎 cool kids came ready to enjoy another day of learning while sporting their coolest shades.
Expand your child’s vocabulary effortlessly! 📚✨ By teaching through context clues and word roots, you’ll empower them to grasp new words with ease.
For example, in the sentence ‘The artist painted a masterpiece,’ focus on the word ‘masterpiece.’ By discussing its context as a work of exceptional skill and artistry, children can understand its root ‘master’ meaning ‘great’ or ‘superior’ and ‘piece’ referring to a work of art. Through context and word roots, your child’s vocabulary flourishes! 🎨🌟
Master Math Fundamentals Together: Lay a solid foundation in math by practicing basic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with your child.
As your child becomes comfortable with these fundamental operations, gradually introduce more complex concepts such as vowel sounds, blends, and digraphs. By working together and providing hands-on learning experiences, you’ll help your child build confidence and proficiency in mathematics.
Unlocking the world of reading begins with mastering phonics—the essential skill of connecting letters to sounds.
⭐️Start by laying a strong foundation: teach the basic letter-sound correspondences and then progress to more complex elements like vowel sounds, blends, and digraphs.
⭐️Make learning engaging with multisensory activities that appeal to different learning styles. Follow a structured approach, providing systematic instruction that builds upon previous knowledge.
⭐️Encourage plenty of practice to reinforce learning and offer support tailored to each student’s needs. Show the real-world relevance of phonics by connecting it to reading experiences.
⭐️Offer feedback and positive reinforcement to keep students motivated. Finally, integrate phonics seamlessly across subjects for comprehensive learning.
With effective phonics instruction, you’ll empower students to decode words with confidence and embark on a lifelong journey of reading success.
