🍀The Shamrock was considered a Sacred Plant symbolizing the arrival of spring
🍀The Frist St. Patrick's Day Parade was actually held in America on March 17, 1601 in what is now St. Augustine, Florida! (According to the History Channel)
🍀Although the story goes that St. Patrick banished all the snakes from Ireland, it turns out that Ireland is a pretty cold place and the chance of snakes surviving there is minimal. 🙂 (Whew - sounds like a good place!)
🍀The Chicago River is dyed green on this day (since 1962)
🍀It's one of the most celebrated festivals in the world!
