I have a set of four questions that I really need input on, as part of my Artist in Business Mentorship. I need quite a number of answers from people who like and appreciate my work, so, I am going to post them here, and hope that I get responses. Please copy the questions and send me your answers in a PM. Thank you so much to any of you who can answer these questions for me. This is about trying to find my ideal buyers. I am not asking you to purchase anything, just for your input. 🎨 I do need answers as soon as possible. 🙏

1. What was the first thing you felt when you saw my work?

2. What does my work remind you of?

3. How would you describe my work, in your own words? (Please be as detailed as possible)

4. When it comes to finding the beauty in everyday things that society typically views as worthless or of having no value (ie. falling down houses, barns, overgrown sheds, old cracked, bare, splitting, peeling wood, rusty relics, etc) what is your single greatest challenge (in being able to see/find that beauty in these types of things)?

If you need to view my work again in order to answer these questions, my website is www.artbyalanaholst.com

Thank to all!!!

"Jugs"
Jugs invites you to step into a forgotten world where time slows, and the beauty of imperfection reigns supreme. This large-format original acrylic painting captures a scene of nostalgia and contemplation.

In this composition, the spotlight falls on old, rusted dairy cans nestled within the confines of a weathered shed. Each detail of these once-utilitarian objects is masterfully textured, giving them an almost tactile presence that draws you into their history. The rust, the dents, the years of service—all beautifully portrayed to remind us of the resilience and character that age bestows upon the simplest of things.

As your gaze moves beyond the dairy cans, you're met with the sight of an old barn, its paint peeling gracefully, offering glimpses of the layers beneath. Nature reclaims its territory with a flourish of overgrowth, as if painting its own story of renewal upon the canvas of this rustic backdrop.

Jugs evokes a sense of timelessness, inviting viewers to reflect on the allure of the past, a time when life unfolded at a gentler pace. It's a tribute to the notion that beauty exists not only in pristine perfection but also in the patina of age, in the blemishes that whisper stories of a life well-lived.

With each brushstroke, this painting beckons you to rediscover the enchantment hidden within the forgotten and the aged, to see the world through a lens that cherishes the inherent beauty of all things, however weathered by time.

Allow Jugs to transport you to a simpler era, where the passage of time enhances rather than diminishes, and where the overlooked becomes a mesmerizing work of art.

Sad. There is such a disconnect between artists and the art society. Art should be something that you love, that moves you, that brings about a feeling or a casts a memory, it should be something you cherish and just love to have around you. It should never be about politics or shock value or God Forbid, a joke. Please buy art from an artist, a flesh and blood human, not a mass-production machine. Please buy art that you love and cherish, not art that matches your decor. Purchase art from an artist who has left their passion on the canvas. Buy art that shows you a glimpse of what matters to the artist. Buy art you connect with, feel, that brings about emotion in you, or memory or that tells a story. Buy art that moves you, be that in a painful way, a beautiful way or a joyous way. Don't buy art because someone told you too, or that you think will appreciate in value. Buy art for you and for the now. This cartoon doesn't feature art...it features a gimmick, a joke. One day you will miss the artists who took years and devoted their lives to honing their craft and their skill and their voice. Don't let real artists die before you ever realize the true value they bring.
