Hi everyone, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who joined the page, sent along messages, offered encouragement and support over the past few weeks as I announced I would be running for Recording Secretary for IBEW Local 1620.
To say your support meant a lot would be an understatement to say the least.
Nominations for the 2020 Elections came to a close this morning at 9 am. I have found out I have been elected by acclimation and will now serve Local 1620's membership for the next 4 years as a table officer in the position of Recording Secretary.

Once again thank you for all of the support and I look forward to continuing to serve this membership for the next 4 years.

I would also like to congratulate the following:

Vice President: Steven Stewart
Unit 3 (Corner Brook) Board Member: Ryan Penney
Unit 6 & 7 (Clarenville/Port Union) Board Member: Jeremy Thorne
Units 9 & 10 (Carbonear/Whitbourne) Board Member: Cory Layman
Outside Construction Board Member: Jeff Fahey

as they have also been elected in the above capacities to serve the next term as well.

To everyone else running in the election; I wish everyone the best of luck and look forward to serving with all of the successful candidates for the next 4 years.

First off, for those who have liked the page to this point; thank you for your support regardless if you are a member if IBEW 1620 or not, I really appreciate it.

I wanted to give a little blurb on why I am running for this position. It is quite simple actually, I feel many gains have been made during the last term for our members but there is lots more that still needs to be done.
While we are headed in the right direction and have come a long way we still need to keep our nose to the ground and continue to fight for our members best interest and that is why I want to remain on the Executive Board of this local. I will continue to voice my opinion and be the voice of ANYONE that feels something needs to be addressed.

If anyone would like to discuss anything with me, my email and phone number are both posted here on the page and I am more than willing to talk and discuss any issue you may have at anytime.

Thanks,
Byron

I have been nominated to run for the position of Recording Secretary of IBEW Local 1620 in the upcoming election. For the past term I have held the position the Executive Board Member for the Burin Unit. Along with this position I have also been an active shop steward dealing with both Craft and Clerical issues as they arise and sat on a number of committees.

I have been a strong voice for all of our sisters and brothers that we represent at the Executive Board table and would like to opportunity to continue to be that voice for the next term.

I believe that every sister and brother have the right to receive equal and fair representation in any and all matters that are brought forward. All matters should be taken seriously and dealt with through honesty, integrity, and transparency.

In the upcoming election, I respectfully ask for your support so I can continue to be a strong voice for everyone at the Executive Board table.

Thank you,
Byron
