I wanted to give you guys an idea of what I am having for lunch.

As most of you know your diet is 80% of your fitness journey and the major factor of whether or not you get to your goals.

Now listen for me it's not about eat grass alone and not being able to ever have your favourite meals ever again. I love jerk chicken so I'm having je**ed chicken.

I also love patties however I make sure to have patties in moderation.

Very important is that you start with your goal in mind, then from there you can research to see what needs to be in your diet to get you to your goal.

Let's kick the notion the your meals have to be bland for your diet to work๐ŸฅŠ๐Ÿฅ‹

Why I started My fitness Journey

The world has been a totally different place over the last year and it is still changing and adopting. This has brought about many changes for my people that they didn't see coming at all. During this period I have had so many people ask the questions:

Why fitness?
Why are you so motivated?
Why this path?
Don't you get tired?
When do you plan on stopping? ...

Well i have been in "fitness" for a minute now as i have been practicing martial arts for 23 years consistently. This has been the catalyst to my journey.

Personally a fitness journey has been very rewarding, as you notice changes, not only physically, but also spiritually and mentally. Your whole body evolve, and I think this is the most valuable part of getting in shape. There is so much involved, from having that cool mindset, the discipline/ self-discipline, self motivation and self worth that will keep you going.

All that said I keep doing this me because I love the results as hard as the journey is, however, i continue to do it:

-for the one person who will look and say if that guy from rural Manchester can so it so can I.

- For those who are not sure how to get started on their journey

-Those who are just looking for someone to help them push those limits

-For those who just wanna DO THE DAMN WORK but need the motivation and discipline to be consistent.

There are so many things that affect our gains while we are on our workout journey. Here are six common fitness mistakes:

1. Sloppy Form/ Rush workout- Using improper form can lead to injury and lack of results.

You will get better results by doing lower reps and lower intensity with proper form than trying to do too much but have improper form.

2. No Structure/Random - Have you ever seen that guy in the gym just doing a bit of this and a bit of that with no structure? Don't be that guy. This will lead to lack of results.

It is better to have a routines workout, with a specific goal in hand. Workouts should be planned with your end goal results at the forefront of your mind.

3. No Enjoyment/ Boring - Don't make you workout be a total drag. Get up and show up for it in good spirit.

4. No Intensity/Too Easy - Do the damn work. You really have to push your limits. This is the way you get the results.

5. Don't make time/Excuses- If you make excuses you don't make gains. It's best if you schedule your Workouts, put it in your calendar.

Your brain is conditioned to protect you, finding ways for you to do easy things and not hurt. Therefore it is always be easy to find a reason not to push your limits.

6. No Question- People are afraid to ask questions. It's ok to not know, but its not ok to continue not knowing.

How do we get in shape and keep in shape. Here are a few things that i would recommend:

1. Train 3-6 times per week - Like many things no one answer for this. This will be dependent on your own fitness background, time availability and your personal goal. As a basic rule tho 3-6 days is good if you are aiming to improve or maintain your fitness.

2. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies- Most fruits and veggies are lower in calories compared to the same volume of other foods. They have high water and fiber content , which helps you feel full and may help delay feelings of hunger between eating sessions. Please note different fruits and veggies will affect you differently

3. Track your caloric intake- When you see it you will believe. You required calorie intake will vary depending on goals

4. Get enough sleep- Enough Sleep is associated with decreased appetite and hunger and this is when the body recharges and recovers to go again.

5. Stay consistent - Consistency is KEY

6. Allow Flexibility - This happen in life being able to adjust and change will be very important to getting your workouts in

7. Drinks lots of water- Stay hydrated, lower refined sugar intake. Helps with performance and recovery

8. Stay Discipline- This is the most important bit. Your brain is designed to protect you and comfort you. So you have to work on that mind and that self-discipline.

9. High Protein Diet- High Protein intake is associated with lower caloric intake, decrease appetite and muscle development and preservation

10. Do the damn work- Nobody is coming to save you and get in shape for you. Only you can do it.

Wether you believe you can, or you believe you canโ€™t, you are right. Thereโ€™s nothing limiting you but yourself with the tiny little voice of fear in your head! So convince you mind, and youโ€™re half way there to achieve your dreams!

The brain is wired to comfort and protect us. The sooner you are able to discipline you mind the sooner and closer you will be towards your goal.

Remember If you workout 1 hour a day, That's just 1 of 24 entering that pain.

Body fat content is a big part of those abs not bursting through your shirt.

Here are a few things that are required to help with body fat reduction:

1. Strength Training- This has been shown to increase resting energy expenditure and reduce belly fat, especially when combined with aerobic exercise.

2. Follow a high protein diet- Eating more protein may be associated with lower risk of belly fat. Increasing your protein intake can decrease appetite, lower calorie intake and preserve muscle mass.

3. Enough Sleep - Getting enough sleep may be associated with decreased appetite and hunger, as well as lower risk of weight gain.

4. Drink Healthier beverages- Suagar sweetened beverages and alcoholic drinks may be associated with a higher risk of fat gain. Green tea and water have been shown to increase weight loss and fat burn

5. Cut down on refined carbs- Refined carbs are low in fiber and nutrients. They may increase hunger and cause spikes and crashes in blood sugar levels. Consumption of refined carbs is associated with increased body fat.

6. Increase Cardio- More cardio is usually associated with increased weight loss. Cardio may also help reduce waistline circumference, lower body fat and increase muscle mass.

7. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) - HIIT can help increase fat burning and calorie burn in a short amount of time than other form of exercise.

These are some things I recommend. This has to be done over time. Self discipline and consistency are extremely important.
