What keeps Alberta conservative voters hopeful in Edmonton, the city bathed in orange | CBC News In provincial elections, Edmonton's conservative voters can't help but feel outnumbered. When the United Conservative Party cruised to provincial victory in 2019, claiming 63 of 87 seats, Edmonton remained stubbornly orange, with the NDP securing all but one seat in city limits.
We must take action to ensure Albertans feel safe again.
The UCP has a plan to address the broken bail system, fight back against gang violence, crack-down on the fentanyl and illegal-gun trade, and keep violent and sexual offenders off our streets.
Albertans should be able to walk downtown and in their communities without having to look over their shoulders.
We will do whatever it takes for Albertans to feel safe on their streets, in their homes, in their communities, and on public transit.
On May 29th, vote for Richard Wong for Edmonton City Centre.
I was pleased to attend the Junior Achievement event to discuss crime & social disorder and the state of through the eyes of our young leaders and entrepreneurs.
From a concerned citizen who wants to see change in our city.
Richard Wong is up to the task to ensure citizens are safe in their homes and out on the street.
NDP Leader Rachel Notley announced that she is planning to impose a 38 percent tax hike on Alberta businesses and job creators.
Notley and the NDP will chase away investment, kill jobs, and depress our entire economy again, if we let them.
Notley still believes higher taxes lead to higher revenue. She is wrong today, just like she was wrong in 2015.
When Notley raised business taxes in 2015 by 20 per cent, she brought in less and less business tax revenue, as investment fled the province for more competitive jurisdictions.
The UCP cut Alberta business taxes by 33 per cent, and this year, we saw record business tax revenue of $6.4 billion.
What Notley is proposing would put our entire economy and economic future at risk.
We cannot let Notley and the NDP take us backwards to high taxes that kill jobs and make life harder for working families.
We must keep moving forward.
Over the years, I have supported MS through the Bike to End MS tour in Edmonton. In addition, I currently help fundraise and advocate in support of a dear friend living with MS.
When elected, I will support the work already in progress by the UCP Government to ensure Alberta remains a leader in MS research and care while moving our province forward.

🚨 BREAKING 🚨
Shaun Fluker, Rachel Notley’s candidate in Airdrie-Cochrane, argued IN FAVOUR of Bill C-69, Trudeau’s “No More Pipelines Act,” before the Supreme Court of Canada.
This is another example of the NDP actively hurting our energy sector and economy.

Former Member of Parliament for Edmonton City Centre

Your vote matters especially to those who hold conservative values and principles.
Our secret weapons were out on the trails winning over the hearts and minds of our Edmonton City Centre Constituents. Reminds us to look at the world through the eyes of a child.
Violent crime is increasing in our communities — fueled by drugs, illegal weapons, and the broken "catch and release" bail system.
Some political parties, like the NDP, are determined to make this issue worse by defunding the police and flooding our streets with taxpayer-funded drugs.
The UCP is saying enough is enough.
We must take action to ensure Albertans feel safe again.
The UCP has a plan to address the broken bail system, fight back against gang violence, crack-down on the fentanyl and illegal-gun trade, and keep violent and sexual offenders off our streets.

We are putting criminals on notice that Albertans will no longer tolerate being harassed, frightened, or victimized.
We will do whatever it takes for Albertans to feel safe on their streets, in their homes, in their communities, and on public transit.

There is a CLEAR winner in last night’s Alberta Leaders debate 👇
Those living in Edmonton City Centre deserve to feel safe on the streets and in their homes.
The UCP will ensure violent offenders out on bail will be monitored 24/7 with ankle bracelets.
I want to keep you, your family and your loved ones safe.
Now we are cooking! 🍔
I was invited by a tenant to answer some questions while door knocking in his building. I got the vote.👍
A new report from the Calgary Herald shows Alberta’s EMS wait times have "markedly improved" since November.
With the revelation of this news, we strongly encourage Rachel Notley and the NDP to stop lying and fearmongering to Albertans about medical wait times. The system is improving, and that is good news for all Albertans, regardless of political stripe.
The UCP plan to fix Alberta's health care system is working to make life better for patients, their families, and the medical system at-large.
We will never stop working to make sure we improve access to health care for all Albertans. We're just getting started.

I attended the MITSA community event on Saturday connecting with community leaders in my constituency.
A community event to bring together newcomers and others from the Queen Mary Park area. It is also in support of increased education, and funding and is the biggest contributor to refugee newcomer integration and next-generation prosperity.
Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms. Know that you are appreciated and loved. 🌻
We are out in full force spreading the good news that the is moving Alberta Forward!
I like what I see when I walk downtown (our signs). Pursuant to the Alberta Elections Act, residents are permitted to display their signs with some restrictions. Don't let Apartment Managers tell you otherwise.
If you'd like one of our signs, please request one through my website richardwong.ca, or drop by our campaign office located in the Chateau Lacombe Hotel.

It was an honour to introduce myself as the UCP candidate for Edmonton City Centre.

The UCP is making record investments in education.
This includes $820 million to address enrolment growth and $126 million to address classroom complexity over three years. This will support hiring up to 3,000 staff, including teachers and educational assistants.
While the NDP say they will address class sizes, their record shows they failed to do this when in government.
Notley said the NDP would provide $700 million to address enrolment growth over the next four years, which is $120 million less than the UCP has already budgeted over the next three years.
I’m proud that the UCP is leading the country in post-pandemic learning loss recovery, whereas we know the NDP would have indefinitely shuttered our schools, kept our children masked, and delayed a return to classrooms.

I submitted my official nomination for the 2023 Alberta Election!
Alberta created 4,300 full-time jobs in April, 86,500 jobs over the past 12 months, and more than 250,000 jobs since 2021.
We have more people working today than ever before in our history.
Albertans also earn more on average every week than people in any other province.
Further, Albertans also keep more of what they earn because our UCP government has restored Alberta's low-tax advantage.
This is all good news for Alberta families, who want to keep growing, thriving, and moving forward.
The only threat to our momentum right now is Rachel Notley and the NDP, who created a jobs crisis with their risky economic experiments and would do it again.
Albertans don't want to go back to the NDP. They want to keep moving forward.
