Calliope's Nest
Calliope's Nest is named after the Greek muse, the "beautiful voice".
It is a jam/open stage for women, a safe place to come and sing, play, tell stories, whatever is within that you'd like to express in a supportive atmosphere.
Again a first Monday has come and gone. I had a blast! It's true. Looking forward already to next time. My friend Kim Michele will be bringing her harp!! She has one of the coveted subway busking licences. Think " Midevil Babes ". See you in September!
Hey Cats and Kittens,...forgive me I never say,...the Last "Nest", was a good one, I was lucky enough to to welcome Sheila Gostic to the stage. Sheila gifted me with her CD, Barred from the "Happy Time", made me cry, wich I don't have to say is a compliment. I hope she comes back some time, because I really enjoyed myself. First Monday of the month, 6-9 @ LOLA , hope to see you there, lots of room in the Nest.

from a poetry festival up in Cobalt Ont.,
the evening was about equal parts writing
to music. I really enjoyed myself, and thanks
so much for listening. Writing is a strange experience I never know if I am half making sense till I read it to someone, so
thank you.

It was good. We had our first actress out to the Nest tonight. Charleen wrote and performed a 10 min. piece using a few simple props. I want more! Thanks to everyone for coming out on this most freezing of a night.
Thanks everyone who came out to Calliopes' Nest last night, it was so much fun! Thanks Pat for your story, we all enjoyed it so much. The night ended with everyone singing Christmas carols, thanks to Dom as she passed the microphone around. Thanks Lola for having us. We look forward to our next nest January 14th. Happy holidays all!

Another good Nest. Lee brought some original tunes and, did a Doors rendition, and took a request for a Lou Reed tune. Oh, and not to be forgotten a snake impression. Thanks to Lola for having us.
