It has definitely been a while! We got moved and the new house is wonderful! Things have been super busy and unpacking has been a slow process.

Good morning everyone! So I have decided to take August off for baskets so I can pack for moving! I will take orders for baskets until July 31! 😊 If you would like something for an August occasion let me know!! I do have some baskets made up as well, that I will be posting this week!!

I'm at the community hall in Cypress Hills today for the farmers market! We are here until 1!!

As grad season has come and gone, I have been reminiscing on how I got started with gift baskets. So I thought I'd share my story with you today 😊

The June of my grade 12 year was a busy one. My family had been doing so much for me and I wanted to give them something as a thank you! I was in Medicine Hat shopping one day and came across the cutest little store and had to stop. That stores name? Basketry Bug!

As I was picking out different items for my family's baskets, the owner and I got to talking.. We started talking about how I was going to College up there in the fall that year and how I loved to be crafty!

As she was finishing up my baskets, she told me that if I was looking for a job while going to school, to be sure to drop off a resume! I was shocked but so excited!!

Then came the fall and school.. I enjoyed school but still needed something to keep me busy and make a little extra spending money. So I went and dropped off my resume! She hired me! It was the first job I had gotten all on my own! And it was doing something I absolutely love! My first day, she asked me if I knew how to curl ribbon, of course I thought I did!! Well, who knew there was an easier way to curl ribbon than with open scissors! And that I would be picky over what scissors I'd want to use 😂

Fast forward a bit and school was busy then done and I had to find a job in my field of study.

Fast forward a few years and I'm a wife and mom living in a pandemic.. In June/July 2020 I started thinking about baskets more and more and wishing I could do it again. I started thinking, how great would it be if I could do what I love, and help people stay out of stores, while supporting all of the amazing local businesses! I mentioned the idea to my husband and he thought it was great! So I sat down and started writing up a plan and figuring out what all I needed! Once I got all of that kind of figured out, I was needing some guidance. So I got ahold of my old boss, and the amazing lady she is, she took time out of her days to talk me through it all and help me figure out what I missed!

In October 2020, I started doing up baskets and supporting local and small businesses, while providing gift baskets to my community 💖
