Sutherland Forest Grove Community Association

We are a dedicated group of Sutherland & Forest Grove community members working to bring our unique community together!

Incorporated in 1984, the Sutherland - Forest Grove Community Association is a non-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers. The Association plans, coordinates, and administers seasonal programs for all age groups, from adult fitness to teen programs, children's sports and toddler activities.

Consists of 8 games plus two tournaments.
Practices are held once per week at the Coach’s discretion.
Mini FOS (Festival of Soccer) June 7 – 9, 2024

**IMPORTANT**
Please register your child through RAMP before remitting payment. In the event that a refund is required we will be remitting payment back to the primary email registered on file through RAMP. We are not able to readily identify the originating email that issued the e-transfer from the email confirmation.

Calling for Coaches
Without these people we cannot field a team. I will be coaching U7 and U9 girls this year as my daughters are participants. We are actively looking for coaches and assistant coaches for the remaining divisions. If interested please reach out to David Purdy, SFG Soccer Coordinator at [email protected]. If a coach cannot be assigned by the registration deadline we will seek to place players on the next available association or cancel the registration with full refund.

Saskatoon emergency shelter will not proceed at proposed site 29/02/2024

Emergency Shelter on Central Ave will not proceed

City Council today endorsed a motion to expand the site selection criteria for shelter spaces to be at least 250 metres from an elementary school (Public or Catholic).

This means the proposed location for the emergency shelter in former Fire Station #5 on Central Avenue will not proceed.

The City will continue to support the Government of Saskatchewan in its Provincial Approach to Homelessness through identifying sites for two new locations, each having approximately 30 shelter beds.

Have your ever played ball, ever wanted to play ball, or have an immediate urge to play ball. Enjoy fellowship in a fun environment while being physically active. Why not try out the 55+ Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association Coed Slo-pitch League? The league runs on Tuesday and Thursdays from May to September and will only cost you $30 (Only $10 if your already an SSFA member). Open to women 50+ and men 55+. All equipment is provided. We take seasoned veteran’s or wannabes. We are flexible on participation so your absence during summer vacation or for other reasons is fine. Emergency Shelter meetings have been resheduled

The City of Saskatoon and Government of Saskatchewan continue to work collaboratively on the final details to prepare for the 30-space emergency shelter to be located at former Fire Station #5 (421 Central Avenue).

Neighbourhood Information Sessions have been rescheduled for Monday, March 11 (virtual) and Tuesday, March 12 (in-person).

In the upcoming week, meeting details including times and locations will be available on saskatoon.ca/shelterspaces as well as provided directly to Sutherland area residents and businesses within a 500-metre radius of the former fire station.

The sessions will cover:

The need for shelters in Saskatoon to support homeless individuals and enhance community safety and wellbeing.

The role of the City, Government of Saskatchewan and the service provider (The Mustard Seed – theseed.ca/saskatoon) in overall planning, how the City chose the sites to bring forward, and day to day operations.

Information on the Provincial Approach to Homelessness and operational oversight.

Information in general on shelter operations.

Attendees’ feedback on ways to best integrate a new shelter into the area/neighbourhood along with helping the City, Government of Saskatchewan and service provider (The Mustard Seed) understand expectations of any businesses or residents near the facility.

The City thanks the community for the patience in allowing all the various organizations the necessary time to complete the work on the integrated operating plan.

A fan favourite, Butts & Guts is a fun one hour workout that will target the abdominal (gut) and the gluteal (yes, the 🍑) regions.
