Update on golf…
Friday Sept 16 at the Cayuga golf course. Registration is ay 12:15 with tee off being at 1pm sharp! Lunch is served at registration. Looks like it will be fantastic weather for golfing! Dinner will be at 6:30pm with entertainment to follow.

The Ray Emery Memorial Charity Golf Tournament Postponed Until 2021
Due to the pandemic, the Ray Emery Memorial Golf Tournament is postponed to September 2021. Proceeds of the golf tournament go to the Ray Emery Memorial Fund that helps sponsor both girls and boys from Haldimand to play sports or help them pay for post-secondary studies.
Given the overwhelming response to the tournament last year, the committee is disappointed that the tournament will not run this year. However, members of the committee are hopeful that they will still be able to sponsor a young boy or girl for their hockey season this year.
Committee member Marty McSorley believes is it important to support during this unique time. “It is our desire to keep Ray's memory alive and to continue our support of the communities in Haldimand. We feel it necessary to cancel the golf tournament but we will assist individuals and programs within Haldimand to the best of our ability, even during the on-going challenge of the pandemic.”
Lacy Grandin, Chair of the committee, is happy to announce that next year’s tournament honouree is Marty McSorley. The tournament will be held in tandem with the hanging of Marty’s banner in the rafters of the Cayuga Memorial Arena. She believes it is an event to celebrate and support. “Our committee started with the hopes of getting our guys, Ray, Marty and others, recognized for their hard work and accomplishments. Our goal is to give kids playing sports, someone to look up to and something to work towards, knowing that is it possible to reach their highest goals. Honouring Marty is also a personal goal for me. We hope the community comes out to support Marty like they supported Ray and now we have a year to make it an epic community event.”
