The cicadas have arrived! A sure sign of summer's peak, as we move into the harvest season. I loved laying in the grass to watch this little one move around. . What seasonal shifts have you been noticing? . . . #nature #neature #lovenature #getoutside #slowdown #natureconnection #moveslowseemore #foresttherapy #forestbathing #sitspot #ptbo

Spring peepers and wood frogs, and chorus frogs! Oh my! πŸ’šπŸΈπŸ’š . The peepers and wood frogs are having full on chorus, but you have to be patient and stand still quietly for a while if you want the chorus frogs to reveal themselves 🌱 . . . #nature #lovenature #getoutside #slowdown #spring #frogs #moveslowseemore #foresttherapy #forestbathing #sitspot

When we take a moment to stand still, we start to notice the world around us. . Curious about what you might notice? Come forest bathing with me this Saturday morning on the beautiful trails along the north shore of Stony Lake. We'll be starting from @viamederesort, a perfect place to stop in for lunch afterwards! . . . #nature #lovenature #getoutside #explore #foresttherapy #forestbathing #shinrinyoku #moveslowseemore #slowdown #natureconnection #ptbo #kawarthas #kawarthalakes #kawarthanow #perfectwknds

Our world constantly tries to cut us off from fully experiencing our senses. From the time we are born, handled with gloves in a sterile room, to childhoods bombarded with messages like: Don't touch that! Turn your music down! And certainly, don't show your emotions in public! . Forest therapy gives us a chance to feel fully with our senses. It guides us to take time to notice the sensations we can feel. It allows us space to articulate those feelings, and to be heard. . It is amazing how often participants come away saying things like: I don't remember the last time I touched the grass like that; listened to the wind blow through the trees; smelled the earth; tasted the breeze.

Only one week until the Ground into Mother Earth day retreat for women! I'll be guiding a gentle, grounding yoga session in the morning and a special forest therapy walk in the afternoon for an extra therapeutic experience. Sliding scale and energy exchange opportunities are still available! . Registration is closing up in a few days so that final planning can happen. If you've been thinking about registering, now is the time! Feel free to reach me with any questions πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ’š

I have a strange affinity for slugs πŸ’š I love the way they move soooo slowly, and their slimy texture makes them glisten in the slightest bit of sunlight. This little guy caught my eye at during the forest therapy session I joined in on today at the perfect moment, just as our guide Kristie was starting to explain our next invitation - 'What's in Motion?'

For the last few days I've been up north, offline and embracing winter. One of the highlights was being the first out to ragged falls yesterday morning, after some fresh snow. Following the ice and rocks along the river's edge, we found a beautiful lookout. Sitting in the snow, I could feel the rumble of the powerful, Oxtongue River flowing through the rocks beneath. #moveslowseemore #inhaleexhale #getoutside #foresttherapy #forestbathing #shinrinyoku #nature #ontarioparks #algonquin #discoveron #comewander

When old shoulder injuries come back to haunt me, it helps to practice especially careful alignment! By moving with awareness and avoiding too much weight bearing, I can work on building important muscle memory! Are there particular joints or muscles that twinge when you hear the word yoga? There just might be some #mindfulmovement practices or #awarenessbuilding exercises that might be able to help! Come learn the basics of good alignment and get some of your questions answered in our progressive 7 week #yogafoundations course starting in January at Peterborough Living Yoga

This time of year, our usual routines for #selfcare can get lost in long to-do lists. Take the time you need to feel good... Whether it be time to relax, or time to #play ! β„οΈπŸ˜ŠπŸ™ƒπŸ˜Šβ„οΈ
