Well we are at the peak of the 2024 season. We will have a limited supply of watermelons and Italian prune plumes. Also Persian cucumbers and the first of the squash. Looking forward to seeing you all at the markets tomorrow. :)

Lots of Red Russian garlic. We are going through the last of the garlic. Taking the bulbs apart to get rid of any bad cloves, so selling bags of loose cloves. $8lb, $7lb for 5 to 10lb and $6lb for 10lb or more. With these mild temperatures you can still plant garlic too.. We also have garlic powder and granulated garlic for $12.

The Penticton Farmers’ Market is looking for an Assistant to the Market Manager for this 2023 Outdoor Market Season.
Current duties would include.
• Assisting in the supervision of the operation of a PFM Saturday Market.
• Assisting in the Collection of Vendor Sales slips and maintaining records
• Assisting in the Collection of Nutritional Coupons and maintaining records
• Maintaining and enhancing Vendor and Community relations
• Managing and updating Social Media accounts
In time, duties for the successful applicant could include.
• Managing vendor applications
• Creating a weekly vendor report
• Processing fees online through QuickBooks
• Facilitating the BCAFM Nutritional Coupon program
• Providing weekly updates to vendors on stall allocations
• Managing market advertising through local media
• Maintaining and updating online platforms (PFM website and MarketWurks)
Requirements for the position.
• Enjoy collaborating with people and interacting with the public.
• Ability to work with and take direction from the Market Manager
• Ability to multi-task
• Physically fit (able to lift 35lbs, set-up tents, move barricades, etc.)
• Computer proficient (Microsoft, basic website editing, social media, etc)
• Must have vehicle, computer and internet and a cell phone.
Wages would be $18-20 per hour for a ten-to-twelve-hour week to start. (Eight hours are on the site on Saturdays.) Might be ideal for a new retiree or a stay at home parent on a path to get back into the work force.

Welcome to spring. It has been a long cold winter, but it seems spring has finally arrived. We will be at the Kelowna and Penticton markets tomorrow. Hope to see lots of smiling friend faces.

Our Story

Our certified organic farm is just under 13 acres in the south okanagan valley just north of the town of Oliver. My family and I have been farming here since 1974. The farm has been certified organic since 1996 and now we are also conservation partners with The South Okanagan Stewardship Society, Salmon Safe, Ducks Unlimited and The Land and Conservancy of B.C. We have joined the program Certified Naturally Grown as we support local food to local people.
