There's still time to donate securities!

By donating securities directly to a charity as opposed to selling them and donating the proceeds, the capital gains tax can be eliminated. This means more money for the charity and a greater charitable tax credit for you.
To ensure your gift qualifies for a 2023 tax receipt, complete your mutual funds donation before December 8th or all other securities donations before December 15th. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/donate/donate-securities/

It's World Refugee Day and we started it off with our partners, furnishing a home for a family of 8! Here's Judi, from Journey Home Community and 2 family members with a full truck, ready to move into their first permanent home.

As of June, we’ve updated the recipients of our Charitable Reservation program! For those unaware of the initiative, book a table with us, and make a positive impact on the community! We’re currently taking limited reservations exclusively by donation on Open Table. 100% of the donations go to the organizations listed below. We look forward to hosting you, and spreading the love together!

Bells & Whistles Dunbar

KidSafe Project Society (@kidsafeproject)
Our purpose is to provide nurturing safe havens for children facing adversity when schools are traditionally closed. When schools close for winter, spring and summer breaks, KidSafe opens. We provide vulnerable children with the safety, supervision, nutritious meals and educational programming they need and deserve but lack access to due to their challenging life circumstances.

HomeStart Foundation (@homestartfoundation)
HomeStart Foundation is a non-profit humanitarian organization helping people re-establish a home. Working in partnership with over 70 member agencies, we give donated home furnishings to people in need.

Bells & Whistles Fraser

BC Hospitality Foundation (@bchospitality)
The British Columbia Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) was founded in 2006 by a group of friends who came together to help a friend in need. From this humble beginning, the foundation has grown to support hundreds of hospitality workers who find themselves in financial crisis due to a health condition.

Urban Native Youth Association (@unyayouth)
UNYA's focus since its inception in 1988 has been to provide meaningful opportunities for Indigenous youth (Aboriginal, Metis, Inuit, First Nations, Status, Non-Status) in the urban setting. Our goal is to be a safe place for Indigenous youth to come and find out about programs and services at UNYA and in the broader community. UNYA strives to support Indigenous youth by providing a diverse continuum of advocacy, preventative and support services that respond to their immediate and long-term needs. Today, UNYA delivers 20+ programs, with 175+ volunteers, 100 staff, and more than 300 community partners. 10/06/2022
