There’s a difference between being reactive vs proactive. We can all be reactive and it could save your life. The pros of life know that proactive is what gets you where you want to go. A big part of being proactive, is developing the skill of looking further down the line. Being anticipatory. It’s requires bring present enough to be able to look ahead and know where you want to go, AND being able to look at what could work for you or against you on that path. Then you can adjust as needed. You need this agility. It doesn’t matter what you’re working on in life…this is like an iron rule.
I will let that be what that message can be for you in this moment.
“Change is always happening. Like trees we go through seasons of falling away and new growth. Again and again. However, the more rooted you are on the inside determines whether these seasons will bring change that helps you or change that hurts you. The tree makes sure it’s roots are strong and that is it’s best chance to whether all seasons and any storm.

Happiness is a choice! We all go through major things in life. Hard things. Very painful things. We must experience these things and grow through them.

We experience the pain and we let it pass. Happiness becomes a daily baseline state because we have consciously created the recipe and we have made an effort to follow that recipe again and again.
That recipe will vary a little bit for everyone. In my experience….it comes at the intersection of presence, intention, gratitude, humbleness, kindness, authenticity and deep appreciation.

When we are engaged in unproductive, unhealthy or destructive habits some part of your identify aligns with that. You’re behaviours don’t lie.

This is a start point of change. Do a ruthless audit of those behaviours and an even more ruthless audit of what you really believe and value. It will make it much easier to detach and create real change. 😀😀

There are many different parts of creating true well-being, fitness and vitality and a successful, meaningful, beautiful life. A strong being won’t come from just pumping iron, pounding pavement or hammering marathon days checking off to do list. It all is very catabolic to your existence unless it is balanced with the intentional opposites. One is the stillness, calm and wonder of just being just allowing the pause. ESPECIALLY in nature. This is just one of those intentional opposites.
This creates an agility that is needed to be your happiest and healthiest self.

Seems so simple right and yet so many people mess this one up. I’ve done it too.
It’s one thing to think you’re clear on your destination but it’s a completely different thing to be clear by having a step by step plan that will get you there. Everyone wants you to pull over and buy their blueberries and it’s okay to buy blueberries. Just don’t lose sight of your desired destination.

Be purposeful, be courageous, be ruthless in your discernment. It’s your life and you deserve it. ❤️❤️.

It’s a change that requires you to be consistent and imperfect to yield the outcomes.

It can be really hard to embrace imperfection. So many of us can see it as failure/falling short. I used to struggle with this too. We then swing back and forth just trying for the pleasure without the pain. This leaves us without the consistency needed to make the real change.
•
All along we are just avoiding the inevitable inner work that brings us to the imperfect and beautiful middle where we reach our goals, feel so happy, connected, healthy and abundant.
Staying clear on the outcomes we desire and tuning in to actions we have taken or have not taken YET are key elements to your success. It doesn’t matter if the bigger goal is to be healthier, to age vibrantly, to be financially wealthier, to have better relationships, to step into what you now know is critical to your purpose and happiness. It may be something else entirely. You MUST learn check in so your actions don’t become your obstacles. You have to be able to see through your own BS.
Ask yourself “Am I using my energy and capacity in effective ways to accomplish these outcomes or am I seizuring between acting by how I feel in any moment and semi directed action that has been pulled off course.?“

What really matters to you? Where do you want to go? Why does it matter? How will you know when you’re there? What are the actions you need to take to move towards that?

Just planting some seeds to consider.
Your brain can easily work against what you really want to create. It’s wired for efficiency so it will go the path of least resistance every time. That path has been created by many variables that you’ve latched on to consciously and unconsciously. When it comes to levelling up your life in any area… The path of least resistance isn’t usually the best one. The good news is it’s never too late to chart a new course. In the words of Ross Geller- “Pivot, Pivot, Pivot” —yes I’m that old😂.
This ability to pivot and break course is crucial for success and breakthroughs in EVERY life area.
Reaching your goals requires the foresight to stay present and the flexibility to pivot. Be resistant to resistance…pivot and reach your goals. 💥💥💥
We all mentor and coach others. Even if you’re not doing it professionally, like I am. I can guarantee that you do it all the time. It will be with your children, your partner, your team at work, your coworker, your neighbour or even the clerk at grocery store. We do this all the time. PS— The partner one requires a deeper level of skill. 😉. Be careful on that one. 😂

Don’t discount the value of your unique life experience. Now… the caveat here is that life experience needs to become wisdom and it only becomes wisdom once it is truly reflected on from many different angles.
I believe this is important because it allows things to be weighed, evaluated… it allows things to be integrated with our human selves . This is something I refer to as “going cellular”. It provides something deeply meaningful and impactful.

This has been experience in my own journey as fitness/transformation/performance expert to wellness expert to Integrated wellbeing/ well living expert… over what is approaching now 30 years. YIKES😱. I’ve been blessed to witness the massive shifts that come when you can package this experience combined with science and deep human connection to integrate it within your clients experience. It has created some of the most profound results. Life changing and life saving. ❤️❤️. It’s something that I’ve come to learn is my responsibility to teach others and support the birth of a new generation of coaches and mentors. More to come on that. Lol!

Remember— a massive part of reaching any goal you set will be because you are the one that must take action, lean in and take ownership of your mistakes and your setbacks. Expect them. Learn from them, change course, if needed and keep going.
Some will be easier than others and some will be so so hard because they test you to your core and reveal what really matters to you. Keep going because you will get there and when you do it then you will be so glad you did. I can promise you that.
Focus on the small results that move you along. Celebrate them mand keep going.

I was talking with a lovely woman the other day and when I asked her how old she was—she danced around it. I asked why she hesitated? She said she was old. PS…she was the same age as me😮. I responded with “No you’re not. Think of who you are and all you are. We must be proud of our age. It’s a marker of all our years learning and growing on this planet. We are only more now because of and never less than.” She completely changed her posture after that. 😁

It got me thinking though. It’s an undertone and an overtone in our culture that perpetuates the idea of over 40 as somehow less than for a woman. It can be devastating when a woman internalizes that crap and lets it take her power. Stop that messaging at the door 🚪Manage reception and perception. ALWAYS!!

Hey…it gets me too “at times” and then I remember who I really am and where I am. I am proud of not just the success.
I’m proud of all the courage, all the failing and getting up again and again, the loss and pain that I have felt and learned from. I don’t think most of my successes would have been reached without these challenges.
I would never change the lessons, the growth, the experiences, the awakenings, the pivots, the peace, the confidence and happiness. The relationships and friendships. Today…I know the ones that matter. Then there’s an unapologetic clarity of who I am, what I stand for and what I am here to do.
At almost 45…I have some silver hair. I have some wrinkles, my body is changing but I am 2.0 , god guided, loving me and building that next chapter to continue serving others in impactful ways. So are you!!! 🙌🙌🙌.
Oh and my kids like to joke dinosaurs roamed the earth when I was a kid 🦖🦕 🤣. All good.
Never let a number reduce your value.

The destination on your GPS will shift depending on what season of life you are in. That’s COMPLETELY OKAY in fact it’s expected. It’s a sign you’re taking your many “experiences”. The conversations, learning, unlearnings , moments, insights, falls, paradigm shifts etc and integrating them into what becomes “wisdom”. That is the “juice”that will shift you into new seasons with new destinations on your gps.

Embrace the seasons and the shifts. Use them wisely. Don’t squander then. They will help you live your best life. 🙌🙌
Our thoughts, feelings and ways of being have a profound impact on the health of our physical body. We cannot stay healthy and treat them as though they are separate.
2 very different things. They impact each other but both must be focussed on individually and addressed in order for you to create your desired outcome. 🙌🙌🙌
