"For Catholics the Church is believers and truly the presence of Christ in the world, despite all its warts and pimples, despite the sinfulness of all of us. We believe that Christ is with us still. The incarnation was not a sudden coming of the Son of God from heaven, and then his immediate withdrawal. I am with you always to the close of the age."

"Until the beginning of the 21st century, Western societies based their economic and social foundations on a more or less successful division of labour between their various members (2, 3). Today, the use of so-called ‘generative artificial intelligence’ machines is putting the finishing touches to this socio-economic model. Here, a threshold has been crossed. Repetitive, procedural, manual jobs (drivers, handlers, etc.), but also so-called ‘intellectual’ jobs (doctors, judges, analysts, managers, etc.), which are increasingly being automated, are not only being and will increasingly be carried out by these machines, which do them very quickly and very well. But the role of generative Artificial Intelligence is no longer to serve humans, to manage our tasks, to help us, but to produce language, images, sound… The fundamental faculties of the human mind are in the process of being delegated to machines. This is perhaps an unprecedented anthropological breakthrough." Read more at:

Did you know that many new mothers experience night sweats in the early postpartum period?
Night sweats are sudden, intense sweating during the night and are a common symptom of the hormonal changes your body undergoes after giving birth.
Here are two helpful tips for managing night sweats:
💤 Sleep on a Towel: Place a towel on your pillow or mattress to absorb moisture and keep your bedding dry. Simply change the towel when it gets damp.
💤 Change Pyjamas: Keep a fresh set of pyjamas nearby and change into them during the night if you wake up feeling soaked.
Have you experienced night sweats recently? What tips or tricks have helped you manage them? Share your experiences below!

Happy Feast Day! "Bl. Maria Romero Meneses was born into a wealthy Nicaraguan family in 1902. As a young girl, her parents found that she was a skilled artist and musician, so she went to a school run by the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco to receive further training. But, in 1914, she suffered a long, serious case of rheumatic fever. After a miraculous recovery, Maria realized her vocational call to join the Salesian Sisters. Once a member, she traveled to Costa Rica, where she became a highly regarded catechist and minister to the poor. She focused her work both on helping the physical needs of people in Costa Rica, and inspiring the wealthy to see how they could help the poor. Maria helped build schools, clinics, houses, as well as food distribution and recreational centers. She died in 1977 and is remembered as a key figure in social support in Costa Rica."

“Stigma remains despite up to 20% of pregnancies ending in miscarriage, 8 in 1,000 in stillbirth”
Around a fifth of pregnancies are lost. There's still not enough support for grieving parents, advocates say | CBC News According to the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, 15 to 20 per cent of pregnancies end in miscarriage. Pregnancy loss after that time is defined as a stillbirth, which Statistics Canada estimated occurred in roughly eight out of every 1,000 pregnancies in 2018.
Our History
1 A QUESTION OF CONSCIENCE
In 1976, Dr. Robert Walley published a paper in the British Medical Journal that exposed the discrimination he faced as a Roman Catholic specialist in obstetrics and gynecology. In the decades since, Dr. Walley’s account has served as a prescient illustration of the moral and ethical decline of obstetrics and gynecology, as specialists in the field stepped down from their once highly regarded positions of privilege, assisting women bring new life into the world, to positions of secular servanthood, with no reverence for human life, in order to maintain the status quo and keep their jobs with the National Health Service. Walley wrote,
“The State of Health of Motherhood: Trends and Policies affecting Obstetric Practice” The future of obstetrics and gynecology, R.L. Walley
The question then became, how does one maintain their integrity in the field while continuing to participate in serving mothers and their children?
