Celebrating 10 years of work/fun at Spektrum congrats JD!
January 28th is your last day to schedule a pickup in Toronto (Leslieville).
It's with mixed emotions that we announce Hype Food Co. Bakery is permanently closing its doors at 1060 Gerrard St East in Toronto. After 5 amazing years, we (Pauline & Matt, Hype’s co-founders), have decided to relocate our family and will no longer be in Toronto to continue running the local operations.
The “Hype” will live on, but the current business model will change significantly. We will have exciting announcements later this year about packaged goods produced at a new location that are shippable throughout Canada. Subscribed to our newsletter to receive more details.
Almost 5 years have passed since we first welcomed you to our restaurant & bakery. Our main reason for opening Hype Food Co. was to make a positive impact on the lives of families that live with food allergies and dietary restrictions. Many of you inspired and encouraged us to keep going. We hope we were able to make it a little easier for your family to manage dietary restrictions. We understand many families have been relying on our bakery in the GTA for their celebration cakes, cupcakes, and donuts. We are sad to leave, but we continue to believe there’s an opportunity for someone locally to take over that side of the business. If you’re passionate about baking and cooking allergy friendly food, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and love to build strong relationships with other families that manage food allergies, maybe you've got what it takes to keep the momentum going with our local customers in Toronto. It’s time to stock up!
We’re are accepting new orders for pickups between now and Saturday, January 28th. Our baked goods can be stored in your freezer until you're ready to serve them. You can also “saran wrap” our packaging to help avoid freezer burn, in case you’re planning to serve them months later.
We sincerely appreciate the opportunity you have given us to earn your trust, and want to thank you for your continued support. We won't say good bye, instead we will say "au revoir" - until we see you again.

In case you don’t know me, my name is Pauline and I’m one of the founders of Hype Food Co. Having kids with severe food allergies inspired me to create a safe restaurant and bakery where everyone, despite food allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions and choices, can enjoy delicious food all together.
We often get asked if it’s safe for people with food allergies to eat out. I’m always careful when answering this question, as all families have different thresholds of risk and have specific needs. Everyone has had different life and allergy related experiences in their past, and recommending a place that has been good for us doesn’t guarantee it’ll be a good match for everyone.

Our Story - Hype Food Co.
Hype Food Co. was founded by Pauline Osena and Matt Gauvin, parents of young children with multiple food allergies. Managing food allergies was a difficult transition for their family at first, but Pauline taught herself to cook allergy-friendly meals and decadent desserts so that their family could eat well.
Hype Food Co. allergy-friendly restaurant and bakery was created to bring families together - so that everyone can enjoy delicious, fresh, healthy and worry-free meals, regardless of food allergies.
The Hype Food Co. kitchen is free from gluten and top allergens including peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, milk, eggs, soy, sesame and seafood.
Hype Food Co. is located in the east end of Toronto, in the trendy Leslieville neighbourhood. Customers can enjoy delicious made-to-order food bowls in a family-friendly atmosphere, where kids of all ages can be entertained by the train table and activity area. A selection of gluten-free, plant-based and nut-free baked goods are available daily, and they offer custom cakes, cookies and cupcakes by special order for all occasions.
