Our very first collaboration with the Hannaford Street Silver Band took place at our "A Christmas Celebration" concert which took place at the Jane Mallett Theatre on December 13, 1992.
At our "Silver & Gold" concert coming up this Saturday, December 16th at the Meridian Arts Centre, the Hannaford Street Silver Band will play the same opening piece "Fanfare and Flourishes for a Festive Occasion" by James Curnow, that they played at this first Amadeus Choir/HSSB Holiday Concert. What a meaningful wait to celebrate 14 collaborations over the past 31 years!

Our "Silver & Gold" holiday concert, which we are presenting in partnership with the Hannaford Street Silver Band will delight you will seasonal classics, new arrangements for brass and choir, and carol singalongs. Another highlight of the concert will be the world premiere of "Thank You Twice" by Aaron Manswell for 100-voice choir and full brass band.
Aaron Manswell speaks about his composition:
"Thank You Twice” is a song that affirms the power of love languages. Though a composition for any time of year, it is most relatable during the Christmas season when material gift-giving is adorned as the main way to show love. Opening as a contemporary R&B ballad and closing as a traditional choral anthem, the lyrics insist the best gifts are tailored to the love language of the recipient.
