Lead By Example KJ#14💚🦅💫
Introducing the 2024-2025 Miss Lead by Example Princess:
Alyssa Iron Heart, Piita Piitaki, is Amskapi Piikani and Saulteaux (plains Ojibway) and an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Nation in Montana. Born in Calgary and raised in Lethbridge, AB, Alyssa started dancing since she was a tiny tot and currently dances teen girls fancy shawl. Travelling the powwow trail throughout Canada and the U.S, reconnecting with friends and family and making new connections is what inspires her to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Alyssa recently received the Acknowledgement of Kimapiipiysin Award, Blackfoot Knowledge Award, Honoring Spirit Indigenous Student Award and the Artistic Talent Award. Throughout middle school and high school, she played for the school’s basketball teams and track and field.
Alyssa’s family, mentors, role models and elders have inspired her to be kind and encouraging to the younger generation, leading by example.
