Welcome! I’m Julia, a North Vancouver mama to two kids and an RCC (registered clinical counselor) by trade. I am passionate about self development and supporting individuals to achieve their most balanced and wholehearted lives. Having navigated my own separation and major health crisis in the past several years, I came to the realization that changes needed to be made to start living less habitually and more mindfully. My work lies in supporting others in living with more intention as well. I find home in my yoga and mindfulness practices and when I’m not spending time with my kids and family I can be found in the mountains playing on bikes and skis. It is so lovely to connect with you, please feel free to reach out to me💜
One mindful step at a time 💜

Such wisdom for relating to our children, to ourselves, and to others.
Many children and teens love their parents and feel loved in return but that doesn't mean they will talk openly to them about their experiences. How do we listen to our kids so that they will want to share their vulnerable feelings and thoughts with us?
If we can think of ourselves as coming to the child's side rather than being an adversary, judge, and jury, then this will go along way in making them want to open up to us - and making it safe to do so.
What makes a child feel secure is not attachment alone, but the kind of relationship where you can be seen, heard, and accepted just as you are.

Guilt = I did something bad vs. Shame = I am bad
Such a powerful concept. How are you interpreting your behaviour?
We lose our peace and power when we justify, rationalize or over-explain our choices to others. This doesn’t mean you should do whatever, whenever, you want. It does mean you don’t have to make yourself small or apologize for taking up space 💜.
