I love them all! These are organic scarves printed with eco-friendly inks. All beautiful quality European grown and processed. They are a generous size of 19 x78 inches and can be worn as a scarf, a shawl or wrap, or even used as a table runner. I have even had someone tell me they made curtains from them!
I just had to put all the pretty William Morris prints up here. I also put them all on the website.

Sometimes, the fabrics that are so beautiful as home decor are a little too bright, or bold, or busy for a handbag. So we adjust them
A rainy Saturday is the perfect day to visit Western Fair Farmers Market.
We have both sun hats and rain hats at Plumage Studio, so you are covered whatever the weather.
Come say hi!
The Strawberry Thief has been a perennial favourite since 1883! It was designed by William Morris after he observed thrashes in his garden, stealing his strawberries. The design features two pairs of birds, amongst the fruit and foliage in a repeated design. One set of birds have strawberries and the others are singing. My favorite is always the ones with the strawberries, the namesake strawberry thieves.
We will have lots of William Morris designed fabrics in our Garden Collection of fashion accessories at The Handmade Market, June 6 &7!
Check them out for all the details!
Preparation time! Sometimes the fabric isn't ideal to me. This brown strawberry Thief had a lot of creams and beiges in it but no green. We hand-painted the areas that you see as green now in two shades. After that, it got a coating to make it more durable as well as water and dirt repellent. All this to make a bag that will last more than just one season and is easy to take care of while you have it.
These ones will be available at The Market at Western Fair, as well as the Gathering on the Green on June 1st in Wortley Village. Come and see!

I find the texture of woven leather irresistible. This bag turned out beautifully in a mustard colored leather lined in a Rifle Paper Company linen canvas.
Available online at www.plumagestudio.ca or The Market at Western Fair.
Are you making summer travel plans? This bag has been a great item for traveling. It keeps everything close and keeps your hands free to allow you to do everything you need to do, whether it is chasing your children, picking up for your dog, or taking some great photos.
It holds a lot, too. There is a zipper pocket on the front lined in water repellent fabric and a zippered top opening to a larger area. I was able to fit my full size 8 inch wallet in mine but I did find it more comfortable with the smaller one.
Look at what's new at Plumage Studio! Gorgeous linen scarves in William Morris designs in gorgeous Spring colours. Come try one on!

With The Market at Western Fair closed this weekend, I feel like I have a bit of time to play around. I have always loved the look of woven leather.
Sometimes your straps turn out so pretty that you need to take a photograph of them!
Lighter colours, florals and rabbits. Seems like Spring is coming!
Make up brush holders are also good for crochet hooks. Just saying.
Zoe needed a handbag to coordinate with her beautiful velvet coat. She liked to size of the Sway with the highland stag detail. Combining the two is something we are happy to do. Love the result and, by the smile, I think Zoe does as well!

Tax season means a lot of evaluation. That's how I found that this tea cosy was my best seller last year. This is a design called Acorn, by William Morris, in taupe and dark blue. It's a beautiful design of leaves, branches and, of course, acorns. The busyness of the design is mitigated by the neutral colours. I have an entire Etsy Shop dedicated to tea cosies. Go to for a link to pick a cosy for yourself. You will appreciate the hot tea!
