We've just completed an ASIST workshop for Orca Lelum on Vancouver Island ... what an amazing group of participants. Thank you for the opportunity to meet such a wonderful bunch of people. I'd go back to work with you in an instant :)
We've had a few changes lately.
In keeping with LivingWorks standards, we are no longer offering su***de to Hope as an option to our clients. I can only apologize to anyone hoping to be trained to this level.
Also, as we have been unable to provide Mental Health First Aid due to canceled courses, we are no longer licensed to train participants.
Again, we are sorry to our clients.
However, we are still providing safeTALK and ASIST to our community
Soon, we will be training safeTALK and ASIST to the Cowichan Tribes programs with hopefully more to follow.
Contact us to discuss your training needs, including safeTALK Training for Trainers.
We've just completed our training events for the wonderful people of Alert Bay in British Columbia. One safeTALK and an ASIST to follow. A huge thanks to everyone who participated and helped to make it such a great visit. It was a privilege to be able to spend our time with you all.
We're happy to announce that our associate and fellow trainer Janet James is now recognized as a Master Trainer for ASIST by LivingWorks. It takes a lot of practice to make it look easy. Congratulations Janet.
Best wishes to everyone for 2024 ... we were very busy over the last year and provided many ASIST courses, plus a number of safeTALK T4T events in Canada and abroad. We've met a lot of great people from near and far and look forward to meeting many more next year ... cheers to you all.

Boys are often told not to cry, and men are told to “suck it up” when dealing with life’s pressures. Toughness and stoicism are expected; emotional vulnerability is seen as a blemish on their manhood. These expectations may discourage men from seeking help when they encounter mental health adversities and instead drive them to destructive coping strategies. https://lnkd.in/edmcFEZV
We're announcing a change to our training calendar for this year.
The safeTALK Training for Trainers event originally planned for Castlegar will now be held in KELOWNA.

Checking In On Others - Mental Health Commission of Canada The purpose of today’s blog is to help us all remember the importance of checking-in on one other as we continue to deal and cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s no surprise that some of us tend to be natural helpers, the ones that friends and family often turn to in time of stress or crisis. Being the person on the receiving end of phone calls, emails or texts from loved ones or friends takes a toll, and it’s important we can be our best self in order to be the best support possible. https://lnkd.in/e94u-jmA
