Civonus is designed to be completely accessible. Our web application allows remote access, breaking down barriers that exist by the requirement to attend meetings at a specific time and location.

We guide participants through the process step-by-step to ensure the process is simple and easy to understand.

Civonus aims for respectful and constructive dialogue every time.

Every Policy Dialogue is fully facilitated to ensure a safe environment where all voices are heard. Participants have to sign a User Agreement, and those who defy rules may be asked to leave.

Exciting news: Civonus’ first official Policy Dialogue is coming up!

Beginning December 12th, residents of Summerside, PEI, will be able to participate in an online Policy Dialogue on how the City can help its’ citizens deal with food insecurity.

In these challenging times, when so many people are affected by food insecurity, this Policy Dialogue is even more vital, and we are eager to see the insightful ideas that emerge from the citizens, subject matter experts and stakeholders. The goal is to identify ideas for the City to implement to improve lives.

We are so proud to make this the first official Civonus experience!

Right now, the Civonus web application is a work in progress. We value feedback from our participants and will continue to improve our product as we move forward. Our goal is to actively involve and empower our users in helping to create the best web application possible.

Meet Robert Hughes, founder of Civonus Inc.

Before founding Civonus, Robert worked in municipal government for 30 years, including 22 years as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Town of Stratford in Prince Edward Island.

Robert has always operated from a continuous improvement mindset. The decades he spent trying to improve his municipality led him to rethink how policy and change occurred in his community and beyond.

Robert knew there had to be a better way to involve citizens in decision-making and addressing gaps in existing policy-making processes. He envisioned a solution that was user-friendly, accessible, and allowed participants to contribute at their convenience.

Cinvonus was the solution!

The need for more productive communication between governments and citizens on policy issues is, in part, what led to the creation of Civonus.

Civonus is an online web application that helps governments and citizens have meaningful, facilitated conversations on specific policy issues.

We've transformed the traditional "Town Hall" format by making policy development accessible online, allowing citizens to participate at their convenience. Before discussions start, participants receive education on the topic and the process, and skilled facilitators ensure a safe and inclusive environment where everyone's voice is heard.

At the end of the process, we provide consensus recommendations to government decision-makers for their consideration.
