Jersey says Happy Sunday!!!!

(SPIN dog I've had the pleasure of spending time with)

Transformation photos of this babe 😍

She's blessed with 3 human siblings and 2 dog siblings, lots of outdoor adventures and camping trips. Short summer cut keeps those nasty burrs from hitching a ride.

See photo comments for details.

Hello Miss Lady πŸ’œ

It was her first professional groom and she did so well...until the dryer. It scared her and she got to the point of biting at it. Lady has a gentle demeanor so I know that her biting was truly her being afraid.

Option 1: muzzle her and force dry. NOPE NOT A CHANCE.

Option 2: towel dryed her with the force dryer in the distance turned on. The second picture is her relaxing into me, getting used to the noise and soft feel of the air. She even gave me a few kisses!

She went home with a few damp spots, but that's ok. This approach builds trust and confidence for her. If I went Option 1, it would have increased her fear, she wouldn't have bonded with me and next time would protest a groom (aka nightmare for her and me).

Just a reminder that unscented baby wipes are great to help moisten the crusty eye goop on your pup. When you let it build up, it can stick to the skin, causing irritation and bleeding.

I remove dryed eye goop safely by wetting, lathering and gently combing with a flea comb....still when build up is bad...this happens.

Love letting this boy assist dry himself while his sister gets prepped on my table. Let dogs be dogs πŸ’™

I used to say I'd never refer to myself as "Mom" to a dog. After kids....yup I caved. And see this baby poodle....I'm her auntie 😍. Had the pleasure of having Luna for a few days so I obviously took the advantage to groom her. It's her second groom with me. So important to get them in young so the learn to trust the process.

My house was poodle haven lol. So fun!

Absolutely love this girl 😍😍 and yes I did trim that one chunk of fly away after the video 🀣

Sunday Funday πŸ˜†πŸ˜† body sling is a life saver for my dogs that hate nail trims or for the ones that need extra support to stand. Use it all the time!

Cooper 😍 I get nostalgic when it comes to beagles. The movie Shiloh was a fav of mine and I always wanted one as a kid because of it. Nice giving this boy a spa day.

Warning from a USA Humane Society. Feel free to do the Celsius conversion 🀣.

‼️Hot Asphalt ‼️
Summer is coming, and so is the danger of hot pavement!

Asphalt temperatures can soar much higher than the air temperature. For example, when the air temperature is 87Β°F - the asphalt temperature can reach up to 143Β°F! And at the temperature being 125Β°F, paws can burn in just 60 seconds.

Here's a simple test: If it's too hot for you to comfortably walk on for 60 seconds, it's too hot for your pet's paws!

Keep your furry friends safe this summer!

Not all poodle owners poodle their poodles ;)
This is MoeJoe, he's been living the dream life after being rescued from a breeding mill a little over a year ago. Such a sweet big boy. πŸ’™πŸ’™ I'm excited to groom and work with him in building his confidence on my table.

This boy is a regular and I love him to bits πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™ He's actually a pretty big guy. Pictures don't do it justice. Doodle ;) Before and After. Went a bit shorter for summer.

It's amazing how some dogs will swallow all the food and spit out that tiny little pill πŸ˜† Happy Sunday Funday!!

Loved giving this girl a deshed and feet trim. Cocoa is close to 100 pounds. Hard to tell from these pics. Lots of fur, lots of heart, lots of kisses. Genuine softy πŸ’“

This 9 year old babe has never been professionally groomed before. She cried for the bath and stuck to me like glue for the dryer. I think I combed out a full extra dog from her fur πŸ˜† She so pretty!!!

Good job little May ❀️

Here's another first groom pup. I let him chill out on my table for a few minutes before we even started.

Puppies are wild cards. They can freeze and not want to stand, or swing to the opposite end of constantly moving and diving on your tools. EVERYTHING is a new experience for them.

One thing that seems to be common is the nap after the groom πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Handsome boy πŸ’™

This girl's first puppy trim. Proud of her!!! Everything is new from the noisy dryer, clicking nail trimmers to the stranger that she snuggled up with. I did not force snuggle this girl....I promise.

She's pretty and has such unique colours for a Shi Tzu πŸ’œ

I'll take a Saturday morning with this boy, Floyd πŸ’™

He came in wearing a cone because of a right eye injury, trots into my grooming area and jumps up on my table all ready to go πŸ˜†πŸ˜Š

Right eye is uneven because of vet request. But boy is he handsome!!!

A lot of you know I volunteer for SPIN (standard poodle rescue). Sometimes my daughters get to help as well. I've been teaching them that it's good to reach out to others, volunteer, help, etc....BUT it starts at home. If I'm not loving my family and treating them with kindness, then what I do outside for others means nothing.

So today after I bathed, dryed and groomed Jersey (new rescue with a skin condition), I took my girls to the beach.

Love your home and love your community β€οΈβ˜€οΈ

Wittle Snoopy Boy before and after πŸ’™

Photos from Wyld Ones's post 11/05/2024

Yes I love puppies, BUT there is something precious about senior dogs. I absolutely love grooming them 🩷

Pic 1: This is Dave (best name ever!!). It was his first time with me and he shook like a leaf as soon as I put him on the table. He is 15 and can't hear, so I placed my hands on his body and talked calmly to him. He definitely could pick up on my energy and vibrations of my voice. Throughout his groom, I gave him breaks when needed. Everything got done, he was a happy guy and fur mom happy too. So what if I added 15 minutes extra for breaks and slowing things down? I don't mind. These old hearts have been faithful family members and deserve the best treatment. I'm blessed to be trusted with them.

Pic 2: My girl Charlea. Well she's not mine, but I treat her like my own. I care for all your dogs as if they were mine πŸ’œ. I allow her to sit and lay down when needed. Also, she gets to air dry on a dog bed while I groom her sister. She's earned her rest and I will accommodate that! And we've totally nailed the selfies together lol. I'll have to work on that with Little Davey Boy!

Should have worn water shoes so I could drag them into the water. They are both afraid of the white caps πŸ˜†
Mac....This boy is the essence of sweetness packaged in a schnauzer body. I woof him!!! And yes he's just chilling while...
