Diagnosed at age 11, the first thing Riley Tufte asked was, "Can I still play hockey?"
Claiming the title of Mr. Hockey in 2015-16, the C**n Rapids, Minnesota, native, has made a career out of answering that question with a resounding YES!
Selected in the 1st Round, 25th overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Dallas Stars, Tufte starred for the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs before making his pro debut.
Now a member of the Colorado Avalanche, Riley is excited to bring Dskate to Minnesota and to provide T1D hockey players the opportunity to thrive on the ice with the support they deserve.

Breanne Wilson-Bennett strives to be the best.
It's kind of her thing.
As a young girl, growing up in Markham, Ontario, Breanne laced up her skates as a "Tim Bit" and eventually found her way to playing AAA hockey and competing against the boys. With a love and passion for the game of hockey that can't be beat, her hard work paid off with a scholarship to Colgate University.
But never in a million years did Breanne expect that, on the cusp of her team qualifying for the ECAC tournament for the first time in program history, her life would forever change....

DskateX was a success, and we could not have done it without Aislynn, Ruby, and Olivia! The girls played a HUGE role with camp this summer manning the Ambassador Operations, and boy did they step up! Dskate would like to thank them for their hard work!

Dskate is more than just hockey. Dskate is about supporting hockey players and their families living with Type 1 Diabetes - and that means providing opportunities to connect, learn, and to better ourselves.
Creating a culture where players can thrive, families have fun and everyone can learn - all while receiving the support they deserve - is how Dskate has developed beyond a hockey program, and into a family.
Bringing together elite-level professionals on and off the ice for the benefit of T1D hockey players and their families, the Dskate team is a unique, dynamic staff with incredible experience, leadership and charisma.
For every camp event and tournament, Dskate is proud to feature a world class on-ice hockey staff that specializes in skating and skill development, and highly trained off-ice staff which include Certified Diabetes Educators, peer mentors, nutrition and exercise specialists, and certified volunteers. Each group works together utilizing diabetes management techniques in order to bring out the very best in every player and every family.
