In mid August we will be making some changes to the group class schedule.
The changes will be written on the white board in the studio and will be posted mid August.

Also, we will have sign ups on the whiteboard for Spartan Race in 2025 (Aug 9) and for Femsport 2025 (date TBD). Our goal is to get ready for these for those that want to sign up and do a team challenge in 2025 together!

Could not be more proud of our team for running the 10km Spartan race yesterday. A couple team members faced their fear of heights and climbed those A frames and inverted walls, some worked so hard out of their comfort zone. We all pushed hard, worked hard and worked as a team to support each other.

FBD is excited to announce our very first kids summer camp. Choose to have your kid(s) sign up 1x per week for July and August, or 2x per week for 1 month OR 2x per week for both months (discounted price).

Class will be broken down with 8-10 min warm up, obstacle course type workouts and either a lesson/discussion on nutrition and health. We may do some arts and crafts to make learning fun. We will also have some days where we take lessons outside on a walk. So kids will need to bring both indoor and outdoor shoes.

Sticker charts to get kids excited to learn and improve form in class and for goal setting.

Overall we hope to make kids as excited about fitness and nutrition as we are!

Hello FBD Family!

It is that time of year again where we are sweating more than usual with the hot days + workouts, so with that being said, here are just a few house keeping notes about studio care and hygiene:

1. Please make sure you wear under arm deodorant to minimize body odor as we are in a small space and want the workout to be comfortable to everyone around. We also have deodorant up in the mudroom for re-application if need be (spray form).

2. Please make sure to take your sweaty socks home and wash them after the workouts. We ask that no one leave sweaty socks in their shoes. Shoes are allowed to stay in the mudroom as long as they are clean and no socks are left with them. Also, shoes that are not touched and left in the mudroom will be removed, so take them home if you are not using them.

3. Please no strong scents like perfumes or colognes, light is ok but any over powering colognes/perfumes can irritate those that are sensitive to smells.

4. Please make sure to wear clean workout clothes and clean indoor shoes only.

We try our best to keep the studio as fresh and clean as possible and having these simple housekeeping rules makes FBD a fun, clean and comfortable place to workout at.

Ingredients:

Filling:
1 block low fat cream cheese
2 scoops PVL vanilla protein powder
¼ cup zero calorie sweetener
35ml milk of choice (I used 1%)
Optional: 4 pumps sugar free vanilla syrup

French toast egg mix:
100g egg whites
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Splash of milk

Cinnamon sugar dip:
3 tbsp white sugar
1-2 tsp cinnamon

French toast:
10-12 slices rye bread (or bread of choice) crust cut off around bread
150g diced strawberries

Directions:
1. In a small bowl, using a hand mixer, mix all ingredients for the filling until smooth. Set aside. Chop 150g of strawberries and set that aside as well.

2.In another small bowl, mix together french toast egg mix. And on a plate prepare your cinnamon sugar mix. Set aside for later.

3.Take your bread of choice and cut the crust off around each bread and use a rolling pin to flatten the bread.

4.Take about 1 tbsp of filling and place on one end of the flatten bread, add a few strawberries on top and roll the bread up. I add a bit of filling on the other to make the roll stick together. Continue this process with all the pieces of bread.

5.Once all roll ups are complete, heat a flat pan on low and spray with cooking spray. Dip each roll up in the egg mixture and place on pan. Watching that they do not burn, once one side is golden brown, roll to the other side. Continue this process until all sides are golden brown.

6. Once roll ups are cooked, roll in cinnamon sugar.

Optional: in a microwave safe bowl, add a handful of chipits with 1tsp coconut oil in the microwave for about 30s. Take it out and mix to melt the remaining chipits until you get a smooth chocolate. Drizzle chocolate on top of roll ups.
If strawberries are remaining top on top of roll ups and if filling is left over, enjoy dipping your french toast roll ups for extra protein goodness.

Protein: 11g
Carbs: 19g
Fats: 2g
Fibre: 1g

Ok we have booked Activate for Dec 17 at 1pm.
We can book 30 at a time, if we have more the next 30 would start 30 minutes after. However a deposit has to be paid so only confirm if you will for sure be there, as this is a non refundable deposit.

Those that confirmed I will have you part of the first 30 group.
Those that have not fully confirmed, please do so by the end of the day so we can ensure we book for the correct amount.

Cinnamon swirl pancakes

In a large bowl add:
1 egg
1 1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Whisk ingredients together.

Then in the same bowl add:
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp sugar
Whisk until smooth but do not over mix.

Cinnamon swirl ingredients
In another small bowl add:
3 tbsp becel (you can use soft butter)
1-2 tsp cinnamon
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp pancake batter
Mix well and add to a piping bag.

1. Heat a pan on low heat, add 1 tbsp of becel/butter and once it melts and starts to bubble at one big scoop of pancake mix.

2. Let it sit on the pan for 1 minute and then take the piping bag and add the cinnamon swirl on the wet batter.
In order to book these without flipping, you will use a steam method. Once swirl is added, cover the pan until the pancake has tiny bubbles all over and is cooked.

3. Continue this method when all the batter is used. Makes about 7-8 big pancakes. *Remember to keep on very low heat*

Want a topping instead of syrup? Try blending Greek yogurt, 1/2 block cream cheese, a bit of milk and a few pumps of sugar free vanilla syrup. Blend until smooth and add on top or between two pancakes.

Macros for pancakes:
212 calories/10g fats/5.5g protein

This is a fun way to get your movement in daily and it's free. So get your friends and family involved and have fun with it. You can also use the wordplay challlenge as your warm up before your workout classes, if you are a client. Great way to get the body moving!

How to use the online booking tool for group class passes

*NEW* Online Booking

Chad has worked very hard and we are happy to announce that moving forward we will be using an online booking system for our Group Classes ONLY.

There are three options:
1. Single class bookings
2. 11 Class pass bookings
3. 23 Class pass bookings

Everyone can start a pass. We will deduct the sessions currently on your pass. If you already signed up for single sessions, don't change it. This will be a learning curve for everyone!

To book off your class pass, click "my subscriptions" and then "book class". This will ensure that the classes come off your pass.
We will have a tutorial video up soon!

I will be running a run and workout group on some Saturdays throughout the spring/summer.

These are FREE for my FBD clients/members and $15 for non members. I do these for free for my clients as a thank you for the ongoing support ❤️

Tomorrow will be the first one! 9am we meet at the gym. Please pre-register by commenting below if you plan on coming. No drop ins- as I do need to plan the workout.

What is a run and workout session?
We run 3-6km (outdoors) then workout for 30-45mins. So you will need to bring a pair of outdoor and indoor shoes. Some days we may do mobility afterwards. Again, depending on the run intensity.

You don't have to commit every time but just wanted to throw it out there for interests.
