St. Vincent de Paul School CCSD

Today, we celebrate our year end mass at St Luke’s parish with Father Adrian. We recognize some of our students that have received the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation, and Confirmation. We even had one staff to receive the Sacrament of Marriage this year.

Tomorrow at 10am, we celebrate with student performances to THANK our parent and guardian volunteers. Viking community!

Mrs. C conducts our junior and senior band through an awesome playlist. The performance was wonderful featuring many soloists who crushed it! We are so proud of our fine arts programs!

Three nights of flag football at Shouldice park. Congrats to the Viking for winning the city championships. This is congregate points for our 3 teams. Amazing! Thanks to our coaches for your efforts.

Alberta Student Vote has come to today as our grade 6-9 students arrive at the polling stations to cast their vote. Very official!

Grade 8 students busy today dissecting horse eyes. Eye didn’t see that coming. O that joke is so cornea!

Wow that was a crazy awesome time! The dance floor was a rockin! Incredible turnout by junior high (dressed up) and our elementary student and families packed the gym and tarmac with incredible energy!

School Council and Ed Society bring to you the Cinco de Mayo spring dance tonight 6-9pm. Food trucks….DJ….Dance….FUN! $5/person or $15/family (cash) at the door.

Grade 8 and 9 band share their talents at the Polaris Centre for Performing Arts. Being adjudicated is just a part of the growth process.

Junior high students arrive at school at 7:30am today to write a U of C math contest. Amazing determination, grit, and rigor to test their knowledge.

The Viking Drum beat is once again provides the heartbeat of our school music program. Great time of the year!

Big congratulations to the athletes and coaches of Vikings badminton. Amazing determination and fortitude to come back and win the city championship banner tonight. 3 days of drop shots, smashes, clears, net play and lots of fun and smiles!

Grade 8/9 senior band attends overnight band camp. Team building, work with clinicians, guest conductor, fun and games. Thanks to Mrs. C for organizing and thanks to all of our parent chaperones. We could not do it without you! Some very tired students and adults tonight!

Grade 7 Viking Band perform today at St. Bonaventure in a travelling performance. Sweeeeet music! Welcome back to Mrs. C.

Viking Danceworks Team shook the house tonight at St Francis in a awesome performance. They simply crushed it! Thanks to our coaches.

3 days of for our grade 1-3 students. Tomorrow is the last day! So much fun and a little bit of sweat fills the gym. You can see the skill and confidence build each day. Thanks to our parent volunteers.

Bringing the energy!

Incredible positive energy in the Vikingdome as the senior boys and girls bball teams take on the staff in a pep rally. We were joined by Father Troy and seminarian Peter from St. Luke’s. They got game! So much fun!!!

Congratulations to our Lady Vikings as they were victorious this morning in the city basketball finals. It is great to hang another banner in the Viking Dome! Simply a wonderful group of student athletes…..and even better people!

Excellent Friday morning touring Bishop William McGrattan around . He had a chance to be asked questions by our grade 9 class along with our elementary students.

Thanks to school council for the Love and staff appreciation. It was yummy and it goes a long way!

Huge thank you to St. Luke’s Knights of Columbus for standing out in the snow and cold to cook yummy pancakes and sausages for our entire community. Thanks to all of our parent volunteers for coming in on their skidoos to help serve our Viking people.

The act of inquiry and discovery filled the science lab as grade 8 teams test their boats capacity. They build a capsule that will keep passengers dry as they consider the unit cost and supply budget during creation.
