TOGETHER WE RISE! 💖
It is with great pleasure that I introduce you all to Meg Henkenhaf 💖 Another one of the incredible speakers and storytellers we have for you this Sunday at TOGETHER WE RISE - A Women's Fitness and Wellness Event
Meg started right where you are. So stuck in an endless cycle of dieting and binging, feeling so out of control around food. After many attempts at treatment and therapy, her own journey to recovery looked a little different than many of the other approaches. Now, after many years of a fuller, freer, healthier relationship with food and her body, she has taken those same techniques and tools to help other women become success stories when it comes to rebuilding their relationships with food and their bodies - effortlessly. 🫶🥰
Just picked up these beauties tonight 🥰 Y'all really will be spoiled this Sunday with these incredible gift bag items! 💖
Thank you for these lovely earrings for our Together We Rise ladies 🙏🫶

It is my pleasure to introduce Amélia Amelia Lamanque who will be speaking at Together We Rise this Sunday! 🥰 Born in Montreal, Amélia Lamanque began dancing at the age of 3 and had the opportunity to pursue her dream by being trained at l’École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec. During her studies, she demonstrated her talent internationally by dancing for various renowned choreographers. Upon leaving school, she performed as an independent artist for several productions including "The Nutcracker" by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and for Cirque Eloïze. Amélia is currently working on a project with Sinha Danse, a company based in Montreal.
Always eager to learn more, improve her skills and help others, she obtained her AEC in teaching classical dance, as well as her personal trainer certification and she is also a certified OTF coach.
Amelia speaks about how motherhood changed some of her perspectives on life, her transition into the fitness world, and the importance of believing in yourself. She has always believed that we have a physical core, as well as a mental core. They work together, but still they each need to be individually supported. The mental is just as important as the physical.

If you're struggling with body image issues, you're not alone. EVERYONE DOES at some point in their life! 🙈 Feeling insecure about the way you look is a common experience that affects people of all ages, genders, and body types. It can impact your mental and emotional well-being, making it difficult to enjoy life to the fullest. But the good news is that there are steps you can take to improve your relationship with your body and feel more comfortable in your own skin. 💪
Here are some body neutral mantras for when you're having a bad body image day ❤
Holy Moly we are so close to the big day! This Sunday y'all! And the gift bag items just keep getting better and better ❤🙌
Big thank you to for generously donating 2 snack bars to each of our participants this Sunday! 🫶 We are so so grateful.

We are 1 week out from TOGETHER WE RISE and I am soooo excited to see you all, connect, dance, and rise with reslience together! Woo! This event has been a long time coming, and really a result of working in the fitness industry for over a decade now. I know how intimidating fitness can be, how intimidating gyms can be, but I also know the other side of it which is how empowering it can feel to be able to move your body without judging yourself, without judging other women, and ultimately feeling good about yourself all around. It is all possible. 💖
A little bit about me: originally from Toronto, I toured Canada and the United States as a dancer for many years before discovering Zumba and settling down in Montreal. Since then, I've passionately hosted several Zumba Fitness parties and fundraisers, taught at many of Montreal’s most popular fitness clubs, facilitated body image workshops for businesses and non-profit organisations, and helped countless men and women to feel strong, fit, and confident, both online and in person! Having founded Rise with Resilience™, I aim to eradicate body image concerns and create a truly uplifting, empowering, and body-neutral community, leveraging my own journey in fitness to heal others' negative body image through movement.
Bodies change, bodies fluctuate. We go through tough times. We are constantly faced with adversity, discrimination. But guess what… we are RESILIENT. 🔥🔥
This is your time to celebrate all that you have been through and indulge in fitness that is empowering. You deserve it.
So ladies, no matter your age, no matter your fitness level, no matter where you're from; on Sunday, June 30th let’s RISE WITH RESILIENCE together. 🙌

Happy Saturday risers! It's time to introduce our next sponsor for Together We Rise! Get to know Gutsy Kombucha who will be gifting each of y'all with one of their yummy, good for your tummy drinks 🍹 The perfect way to end the event!
Gutsy Kombucha is dedicated to brewing the healthiest and tastiest plant-powered fermented drinks, combining pleasure, taste, and health in every sip. The journey began in Nicaragua, where the founder discovered kombucha by a local cafe owner in Gigante and, inspired by its delicious taste and the owner's knowledge, they returned to Montreal to create Gutsy Kombucha in 2017.
Later partnering with a naturopath, they incorporated the power of plants and herbs to craft their unique brew. To minimize their ecological footprint, Gutsy initially offered kombucha exclusively on tap, installing filling stations in stores and fostering zero-waste relationships with retailers, making them the largest on-tap kombucha producer in Quebec. In response to consumer demand, they later introduced canned kombucha, providing a stable, recyclable, and environmentally friendly alternative that maintains their commitment to sustainability and quality.

Thank you so much Gutsy Kombucha for helping our ladies Rise with Resilience!

It's not motivation, it's not discipline, it's not knowledge; it's your WHY. 🙌
If your sole purpose is to change your appearance, you will never be satisfied. You will get in the habit of always finding something you don’t like about your body. 😿 And truthfully, one of the main reasons I see that people start to lose motivation and stop going to the gym is because of this very thing… It is mentally and emotionally exhausting to be constantly reminded that your body is not good enough, and you need to change how you look.
So focus on something else instead! I promise you this shift in mindset is life-changing. 🤯
Emphasize the journey, and celebrate your little milestones along the way. 🏆🏅
And remember: you are STRONG, you are RESILIENT, and YOU GOT THIS! 💪🫶
Reminder: Your worth isn't measured by inches, numbers on a scale, your hair, your skin, your age, your ethnicity, or anything else. You are inherently valuable just as you are. 🌟
So go out there and enjoy the sunshine! 🌞 It will feel oh so good 🫶

And join the event! TOGETHER WE RISE - A Women's Fitness and Wellness Event
I had a call with a women's shelter in Toronto the other day. One of the main topics of conversation was the idea of calling people in, instead of calling people out. It's so easy to judge other people, other women, for not being where we think they should be in terms of their body image mindset. Apply it to other situations, though. How would you feel if someone called you out for looking or thinking differently than them? It wouldn't feel good.
We are all on our own journey and our own timeline. The real way to invoke change and cultivate a community of healthy body image and self-esteem is to call people IN, encourage learning and growth, NOT call people out. ✌️☮️🙏

It's me! Hi! 👋
This is my why. This is my story. This is why this is so important to me. Thank you for being here ❤️
Warmer weather brings so much body anxiety as we transition to more revealing clothing, which can highlight things we’re insecure about and make us feel more self-conscious than usual. 😥 But there are ways to deal with this without spiralling into a complete vortex of self-hatred 🌀 Here are my top tips for dealing with summer body anxiety without going crazy or gaslighting yourself, because staring at yourself in the mirror telling yourself how hot you are, when you dont fully believe it, is not always helpful. Let’s be real. ☠️
Introducing Made By Maurice, a TOGETHER WE RISE sponsor who will be gifting each participant with a handmade scrunchie. How cute are these!? 🫶🙈
Zahava is the founder and creator behind Made By Maurice. She’s a forty-something mom of five who works from home, just trying her best to get better at life. She’s also the founder of Tissus for You, Clementine & Fiona Design House™ and runs a YouTube channel @pallor17.
Made By Maurice began when she noticed fabric sales at Tissus for You slowing down and she realized she had an abundance of time and resources on her hands. She decided to put both to good use. About 2018, she had spent a lot of time sewing, making accessory bags, reusable pantyliners and other small handsewn gifts. Then the pandemic hit and she began sewing masks.
Eventually, she took a hiatus, and didn't really sew for at least 3 years. Then, she found she missed sewing, and the whole creative process and wanted to get back into it.
Zahava loves playing with pretty fabrics, creating content, and all the admin (yes, you read that right) that comes with generating a business from scratch!

TOGETHER WE RISE - A Women's Fitness and Wellness Event
True body neutrality means not only accepting and respecting your own body, but everyone else's body as well. 🙏🙌✌️
Call people IN, instead of calling people OUT is the key to everyone truly feeling OK with themselves and their bodies 🫶
Movement is medicine. I truly believe that. And throughout my life, whatever happened, whatever stress I was going through, whatever trauma, moving my body was what allowed me to rise above it all and conquer everything I needed to conquer. It's amazing what our bodies are capable of doing for us, and allowing us to feel stronger and more resilient is just one of those things!
It's Monday, and no one likes Mondays haha! So if you haven't yet, get up off your chair, do a little dance, and indulge in movement that feels good ❤️ You deserve it.
And we'll have the pleasure of dancing together on Sunday June 30th at Together We Rise! I cannot wait to see you all there! Tickets and info at the link below! 🙌

I have been a fitness professional for 11 years now. From a very young age, I was exposed to fitness. I remember so vividly dancing to Jane Fonda workout videos with my mom in our living room. Instead of doing those workouts with the sole purpose of looking a certain way, we did them to feel fierce, strong, have fun, and feel empowered in our bodies. There were many reasons why we looked different from our peers, but we decided to embrace it, instead of hiding, and chose to rise with resilience…
When I joined the fitness industry as an adult, I was not prepared for the negative body image I would develop. I noticed I was constantly comparing myself to other trainers. It got even worse once I finally got an instagram account. I now consider myself to be a strong-headed, independent, confident, body-neutral 30-year-old. But it wasn’t always that way. Like many young people, I fell victim to the messages out there to change my body. My self-esteem definitely suffered and my body image issues were highlighted. However, through having worked so closely with people in a fitness environment for many years, I was able to become truly body neutral.
The negligence of the fitness and diet industries have long lasting negative effects, and it targets women in particular. And now when I speak to my female clients, the only ones who are truly accepting of their bodies are the ones who are over 60. This is unacceptable.
If I can change the mindset of even one person reading this, I will have accomplished something. But I know there is so much more work to be done.
Go out there, live your life, enjoy the company of the people that you love, experience the things you want to experience, go after everything you want because you are more than worthy. What you look like is the least interesting thing about you and it doesn’t have to hold you back anymore. 💕
Something truly magical happens when a group of women come together. 🔥🔥🔥

It's time we broaden our horizons when it comes to role models and aspirations. Our society needs diverse inspirations beyond just physical appearance.
Let's encourage our daughters to admire qualities like resilience, determination, and intellect.
Beauty now encompasses a multitude of dimensions.
Join us in embracing role models at www.selfmadebabes.com. Remember, true beauty radiates from within. It's about the essence of a person, their kindness, their intellect, and their impact on others – qualities that endure beyond physical appearances.
Together We Rise is not your typical women’s empowerment event. I wanted to create something where women could not only come together and bond over shared experiences, but actually come out of it stronger and more resilient. 💪 Each speaker has gone through a life-changing experience, be it an eating disorder, motherhood, body image and self-esteem issues, or navigating a man’s world. But that’s not all; we’ve all overcome these challenges, and that’s the difference. 🔥 We are the true examples of what it means to Rise with Resilience.
🙌✊ And now, we’re able to provide you all with the skills and mindset to help you conquer anything that may come your way. We’ve lived through it, so you don’t have to. 🧚♂️✨
