🔬🧪📒 Calling all biology, technology and art enthusiasts! 💫🌿✂️

If you’re looking for ways to explore bio art and multi-species theory in your work, RTA933 ‘The Bio Art Class’ might be the course for you!

Learn about small biological systems through biodegradable materials, bio textiles, edible food cultures, household waste as raw material, up-cycling strategies. Use open source technology to consider ways of collectively addressing local ecological and social problems.

Whether you’re interested in biology, art, design, social justice, the environment or simply curious about slime, RTA933 will be a place to consider new approaches to multi species interaction in the field of bio art.

This course is taught by new media artist, bio artist, speculative designer and TMU Postdoctoral Black Scholars Fellow Ashley Jane Lewis who explores technology and organic systems (such as mycelium and slime mold) to drive conversations about equity.

The course will run for 6 weeks starting April 30th until June 12th on Tuesdays and Thursdays 11am-2pm. Enrollment will become available in MyServiceHub at the end of March
