🔹 Utilize smart storage: Wall shelves, pegboards, and overhead racks will maximize your space.
🔹 Make room for the car: Keep your vehicle protected this winter by creating a designated parking area free from clutter.
Not only will you be ready for winter, but you'll also enjoy a clean, organized garage all year long. 🌟 Let Get Sorted help you transform your space—contact us today for a custom garage organizing solution!
A closet that works for you is the best kind of closet. Rotate your wardrobe and store off-season clothes in clear bins for easy access. ✨🧹
It's that magical moment when your closet needs a seasonal switch, and you're left wondering how it got so packed. 😅 But don’t stress, Get Sorted's got you! Here’s how to tackle the transition like a pro:
1️⃣ Declutter First: Start by pulling out what you haven't worn in the past 6 months. If it doesn’t spark joy (or keep you warm/cool enough), it's time to say goodbye. *Marie Kondo who?* 🙋♀️😉
2️⃣ Seasonal Swap: Move your summer wardrobe to the back and bring forward those cozy fall/winter sweaters and jackets. Keep like with like—it's easier to find what you need! 🍂👚
3️⃣ Check for Damage: Inspect all items before putting them back—missing buttons? Small tears? Fix them now so you’re not scrambling later.
4️⃣ Use Storage Bins: For off-season clothes, invest in some clear bins or vacuum-sealed bags. Your closet will thank you later. Less chance of items getting lost all-year-round or stretching the fabrics from overcrowding. 🧳
5️⃣ Give Everything a Home: Use dividers, hooks, or shelves to keep items neat and easy to access. Think of it as your closet’s version of a spring cleaning reboot. 🌱
Pro Tip: Make a wishlist of anything missing for the upcoming season and shop smart, not fast. 😉
Hey friends! I'll be taking a much needed social media break. Business is still running, but I will only be checking DMs periodically for the foreseeable future.

INSTEAD ASK YOURSELF...⬇️
💙'Do I really want the job of managing this item?'
💙'Is it really worth my time to keep this item?'
💙'Is it really worth taking up the space?'
💙'If this item is staying, where will it live?'
💙'why do I feel so drawn towards keeping this item?'
🧲For some, decluttering can evoke a feeling similar to trying to push two north pole magnets together - they repel each other. It can feel uncomfortable, unrealistic, and forced. This resistance is natural, but when we shift our thinking (or, one of the magnets...) we start to make connections. Those magnets eventually find their balance, with patience and persistence, you can find a sense of order and peace in your home.
🧲Alternatively, imagine your home is like a magnet board, and every item in it is a magnet. Over time, these magnets can accumulate and heavily crowd the board, making it difficult to find what you need or even appreciate the space you have. You wouldn't be able to use your calendar or make notes.
🧲Just as you would carefully remove unnecessary magnets to create a more organized and functional board, decluttering your home involves thoughtfully sorting through your belongings, keeping only what is essential or worth managing. By doing so, you create a more harmonious and efficient living environment.
A Financial Tip 🫐💸
Don't get me wrong - I love a good Costco outing. From the occasion deals to the samples...🧀
Shopping at Costco can be great, but it doesn't always save you money.
Bulk buying means higher upfront costs, and sometimes we purchase more than we need, leading to waste.
Plus, the annual membership fee can offset any savings if you don't shop often.
Be mindful of what you actually need and compare prices to ensure you're really getting a deal!
🌟 Elevate Your Wardrobe 🌟
As a professional organizer, I can't stress enough the value of updating your closet/wardrobe area. A well-organized closet not only saves you time but also makes getting dressed a joyous experience.
Here are 3 tips to refresh and reorganize your space:
1. DECLUTTER: Remove any irrelevant items and any trash/recycling. Say bye to dry cleaning hangers, shoe boxes, etc. Go through every item and ask yourself if you love it or if it serves a purpose. Donate or recycle what you no longer need.
2. SORT: Sort your clothes by type (shirts, pants, dresses). Bonus sorting tip: sort by color and sleeve length. Use matching hangers for a cohesive look.
3. OPTIMIZE YOUR SPACE: Invest in space-saving solutions like shelf dividers, hanging organizers, and clear bins. Maximize every inch!
Refreshing your closet can transform your daily routine and boost your mood. Start today and experience the difference!

Here's what clients are saying...
"Kelsey and her services are magic! I contacted her because we had a very overwhelming project of decluttering and organizing our storage space in the basement and its' adjoining room.
After having two kids our collection of unwanted toys and kids items had grown a little out of control and it was a task I was avoiding because I just didn't know where to start.
Kelsey was so helpful in helping me to decide the things we should keep, donate or sell. I think the very best part was that she took care of all the donations at the end of the job. It felt so good to see all those unnecessary items go and to be able to enjoy our space again."

Raise your hand if you're figuring it out 🙋♀️
(... News flash, it's everyone).😅💙
This is for you if you've ever felt the need to have everything figured out ⬇️
It's natural to have a strong desire to figure things out, but when this need becomes constant and overwhelming, it can lead to stress and anxiety.
Here are some strategies that may help you manage this constant need to figure everything out:
🌸Practice mindfulness - Mindfulness techniques, such as meditation or deep breathing exercises, can help you stay present in the moment and reduce the urge to constantly analyze everything.
🌸Set boundaries - Establish boundaries around how much time and energy you dedicate to figuring things out. Allow yourself to step back and take breaks when you start feeling overwhelmed.
🌸Challenge perfectionism - Perfectionism often fuels the need to figure everything out. Remind yourself that it's okay not to have all the answers and that striving for perfection can be counterproductive.
🌸Focus on what you can control - Recognize that there are things beyond your control, and it's okay not to have all the answers. Focus on taking action on things within your control rather than trying to figure out everything.
🌸Seek support - Talk to a therapist or counselor if your constant need to figure things out is causing you significant distress or interfering with your daily life. A mental health professional can help you explore the underlying reasons for this need and develop strategies to manage it.
🌸Practice self-compassion - Be kind to yourself and acknowledge that it's okay not to have all the answers. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer to a friend facing a similar struggle.
Organization is not synonymous with perfection.
Having everything figured out/"perfect" (ahem, impossible!) is not synonymous with success.
So give yourself some grace. 💙
You're doing great. 🙌
What are you reading?! 📚
Organizing books can be both satisfying and visually stunning! 📚 Whether you arrange them by genre, author, or size, one playful option is arranging them by colour. 🌈 It adds a pop of colour to your bookshelf!

Make space for better things. 🏡
Emotional attachments play a significant role in our struggle to let go. Whether it's a past relationship, a treasured possession, or a nostalgic memory, we form deep emotional connections that anchor us to the past. Severing these attachments can feel like losing a part of ourselves.
Letting go can open up new doors, new possibilities, and new adventures. And, simply create more space.
We can learn, innovate, achieve and thrive. So, let's not hold on to what was or what could have been. It's time to embrace change.

We're all figuring it out as we go.

🔋 Let's talk about organizing batteries and why recycling them is crucial! ♻️
1. Storage: Keep batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Store them in a designated container to avoid short-circuiting.
2. Sorting: Separate different types of batteries (alkaline, lithium-ion, etc.) to prevent mixing and potential hazards.
3. Recycling: Recycling batteries prevents harmful chemicals from entering the environment, conserves resources, and reduces waste. Find local recycling centers or programs for proper disposal.
Did you know Get Sorted will take your old batteries and recycle them for you? 😲🙌
If you're looking for a spot to drop off your old batteries we recommend:
🔋 , near customer service
🔋 , near the exit
🔋Local grocery stores, check yours ahead of time!
Let's make a positive impact on our planet by organizing and recycling our batteries responsibly! 🌍💚
