Carpentry in Germany. It was here that I discovered a never ending fascination for wood joinery. Upon completing the course I took the opportunity to travel and work with diverse companies and company cultures where I gained not only mastery in timber framing technique and skills, but also a solid working knowledge of Passive House. Since I’ve been in Canada, my skills as a CNC operator have been in high demand, but I found I was missing the hands-on production side of timber framing and in 2011 I decided to open a business for myself and started Bighorn Timber Frames. My company is located in Salmon Arm, BC and I have returned to my “first love”, which timber is framing. I love the opportunity that having my own company allows for creativity and innovation! When not cutting for my clients, or taking on heavy timber contracts, I enjoy lending my talents (and tools!) to a crew of like-minded heavy timber specialists working primarily in commercial of Cross Laminated Timber and Glulam.
