A poem in the style of Shirley Lovell (my Mom)
I forgot to set my alarm last night.
It caused me quite a delay
In the morning, I woke with quite a start
Full of angst and full of dismay
I jumped out of bed and darted about
Tried to keep all my fears at bay
What will happen today if I am late for work,
Will I lose my desk, my job, my pay?
I will prioritize the Yes's and No's
To help me get on my way
Yes to breakfast, No to shower
Won't look good at all, but hey
I won't take any time to do up my hair
Oh, no, do I see some grey?
I'll leave all the dishes right there in the sink,
But I will take some time to pray
And I will brush my teeth two times tonight
Oh, what would the poor dentist say?
Then there at the door, I stop for a bit
One thing I would like to convey
I sighed and said "It is what it is"
I just go out and face the day.

I am singing in the Town Singers concert on Sunday Dec 11 and Tuesday Dec 13.
I have to practice a lot because I sing bass and some of the notes are too high for me.
I discovered The Station Active Living Centre in Downtown Carleton Place
I figured I would need a disguise so they would let me in....
