If you are going to buy a Kiwanis trip of the month ticket please buy it from a Kiwanis member or from the Albertan office. A ticket scam surfaced today where someone is wanting to sell four tickets they claimed to purchase. They even offer to negotiate the price. This is a scam. Tickets are sold to a specific person and not transferable.

We encourage you to purchase your ticket as the money funds many community projects for kids. Just don’t get fooled by the scammers.

Let’s celebrate rural Alberta’s Healthcare Professionals - May 27 – 31, 2024 is Alberta Rural Health Week

Alberta Rural Health Week is a great opportunity to honour the contributions of the rural Alberta healthcare providers and community volunteers who help keep health care close to home.

Rural healthcare providers are valuable resources in their communities. They improve the quality of life in rural areas with their healthcare skills and practices, and they also make personal contributions to the community. These professionals have special relationships with the people they serve and are not only healthcare providers, but also friends, family, neighbors, and volunteers. Moreover, they often take on the role of teaching and mentoring future healthcare providers in their communities.

During Alberta Rural Health Week, we encourage communities to show appreciation for the contributions of the rural health providers whose abilities enhance the quality of life in rural Alberta.

Alberta Rural Health Week is also an opportunity to say thank you to the local volunteers who go above and beyond to support healthcare and healthcare providers in their communities.

Alberta Rural Health Week celebrates the contributions of rural Alberta-based community members and health professionals to the quality of life in rural Alberta.

Celebrate!

Idea’s on what can you do to show gratitude for your rural health care team:

Write a thank-you card
Gift an appreciation basket
Put up a drawing or messages of thanks in a window or your fence
Post messages of support to websites/social media
Create a funny appreciation video (e.g. JibJab, etc) for health care providers
Tag social media posts with
Give a shout out to the health professionals in your area that mean so much to you – Remember to tag

The Kiwanis BBQ for the Grads started out to be a bit rainy but it did manage to stop in time to eat! It has become an annual tradition to have a BBQ for the grads after they finish their road painting. Thanks to Todd Allen for the grill and for helping. The burgers, hot dogs, chips, water & pop were enjoyed by the many grads, EOHS Staff & volunteers. We were delighted to see all the grads & teachers. Happy Graduation weekend!
