Vancouver Bound!
The last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was hammered home in 1885, uniting the nation from coast to coast! Just a few years later, in 1889, The Stevens Company was on board one of those first westward trains, setting up shop in Vancouver!

Back then, Vancouver was a young town with a population of around 19,000 (compared to over 675,000 today!). We've grown alongside this amazing city, and we're proud to be a part of its story.

We celebrate 150 years in Canada this year, celebrating alongside Canada's incredible 157 years this week! Since 1874, The Stevens Company has been proudly Canadian, providing healthcare services and growing alongside this amazing nation. Here's to another 150 years of innovation and serving our communities!

Talk about a bold move! Back in 1874, James Stevens' son, Daniel, wasn't afraid to break new ground. He set up shop in downtown Toronto, establishing The Stevens Company's Canadian subsidiary and becoming a pioneer in Canadian healthcare distribution!

At just 13 years old in 1830, James Stevens embarked on a remarkable journey. He became an apprentice to a surgeon's instrument maker, honing his skills for seven years. Dedication paid off, and soon after, James launched his own business in London, crafting and distributing surgical instruments under the Stevens name.
