The Children's Library

A huge thank you to Lily Kangas for sharing her stories with us this morning! We had a great time hearing about the dogs in the Doghouse series! We had a blast!

If you missed Lily at the Children’s Library this morning not to worry, she will be sharing more stories at The St. Joseph Island Museum Teddy Bear Picnic this Sunday!

Today is the day! Lily Kangas will be sharing her stories at the Children's Library for story time at 10:30! You can even have your own signed copy if you purchase your book direct from Lily!

One more sleep until our author visit! Stop by the Children's Library tomorrow morning for stories by local author Lily Kangas and crafts too!

Don't forget to stop by our book sale tomorrow morning! We'll be set up from 9am to noon in front of Moose Sweats with all kinds of books to fill your book bags with!

Calling all shark lovers, pirates and mermaids! We're reading books about ocean creatures, and making; shark, mermaid, pirate, whale and rainbow fish crafts this week! Don't forget to stop by our ocean themed activity table. The staff will also be getting out some of our real ocean creatures for kids to take a closer look at!

Save the date! The Children's Library is having a book sale next weekend! Bring your own bag and fill it with books for only $5!

Calling all aspiring artists! Do you want to paint with us? Sign up with the library staff to paint your own ocean scene in acrylics with us on Thursday July 18th! Spots are limited to ensure we can share all the tips and tricks we know!

Summer hours start next week! The Children's Library will be open from 10am to 3pm with story time and activities daily at 10:30am!

It's the final stretch everyone! Only two after school programs left before we take a break for the summer!

We're collecting again! Starting this coming Monday April 15th we'll be collecting clothing and soft goods at the rink building of Tranter Park in Richards Landing. Your donations will help raise funds for The Children's Library and help to keep reusable items out of our landfill sites!

Looking to make some March break plans close to home? Join us at the Children's Library this week! Wednesday and Thursday we'll be having some Dr. Seuss style fun, Friday we're on the hunt for Waldo and his friends and Saturday is all about the Leprechaun!

The Children’s Library will be closed today due to inclement weather. The after school program will also be canceled this week. Stay safe and warm everyone!

The kindergarten class has made their predictions about Groundhog Day tomorrow... have you made yours yet? Join us on Groundhog Day tomorrow to make a last minute prediction for story time at 10:30 and make your own groundhog craft!

Is everyone ready to score a ballot or two? If you get caught reading by the librarian at The Children's Library from now until December 23rd you will receive a ballot for the Christmas draw! You can earn a new ballot each time you visit!

Have you seen our mitten tree? The Children's Library was gifted these lovely handmade mittens (Thank you, thank you Sandra Stevens!) to sell for $5 a pair to help raise money for the Library! The tree is up and you can stop by to find your pair to warm your hands and our hearts!

Come get cozy with us at the Children's Library this morning for a special pajama day story time at 10:30!

We know it's sometimes hard to get out of bed on a PD Day, but the good news is you won't have to get dressed for this upcoming Friday! Join us in your PJs for story time and craft at 10:30 on Friday November 10th!

The Children’s Library would like to thank everyone who contributed to the clothing and soft goods drive! We’re finished collecting for the season and we're still awaiting the final number, but we can say that all the help received through the collection drive makes a big difference! We appreciate all the support, large and small, that helps the The Children's Library give back to the community.
