Kirk is all of us right now, all smiles. He took a quick trip out to Niagara Falls for the Brewers Journal Canada Canadian Brewer's Choice Awards, and collected the 2023 Brewery of the Year Award!

We're super proud of this one, as it encompasses a lot of the things we've done over the last 18 months: from our employee share ownership program, to our Alberta Emerald Foundation award winning carbon recapture system, our Lacombe Large Business of the Year award, our commitment to our community and craft beer in Alberta, marketing initiatives we've undertaken, and of course the beers we make.

Our favourite wine this week is from A Pie de Tierra

The Garnacha (aka Grenache) of our dreams was found in the degraded & ancient soils of Mentrida, just outside Madrid on the way to Toledo. 40 year old bush vines created the wonderful grapes that made this tasty, juicy and fresh example of Garnacha.

12 months in neutral french oak allows the fruit to shine and flavours to integrate before bottling.

Red fruits, violet aromatics and a savoury crunch - complex and super food friendly or great to enjoy a glass on it's own (careful though, it doesn't last long).
