As we head into fall and winter, I know many of us are looking to support our immune systems. 🙌🏼 You may have recently started taking vitamin C 🍊 or vitamin D ☀️ again - knowing that these vitamins are great for immune support at this time of year! But are your supplements really working?? How do you choose a high-quality yet budget-friendly supplement? These are very important questions to ask when purchasing any supplement.

Not all supplements are created with the same quality and purity. My eyes 👀 were opened to this after working at a health food store and naturopathic dispensary for a few years. There is a huge difference in the quality and effectiveness of supplements you may purchase at the drug store or Costco (I’m looking at you Kirkland brand), vs high-quality whole food supplements that you may find at a health food store. It is important to vett the ingredients list carefully - and here’s why. Swipe through for tips and tricks!

I want to help you choose a quality supplement that will get you results and save $$$ in the long run. I’m passionate about this topic because I’ve seen so many people have amazing and life-changing results with the use of high-quality supplements. I know it’s important to save money and budget, but when it comes to your health don’t skimp!

I had a look at the ingredient label on flintstones kid’s vitamins and I was astonished. They contain so much sugar (disguised under multiple names), vitamins that are not bioavailable, as well as harmful food dyes including FD&C red #40, and BHT. Supplements such as this do more harm than good!

… and my all time favourite food photo I’ve taken. Can we just talk about this lime green colour! I’m obsessed. Doesn’t this just look like the most fresh, healthy thing you can imagine eating!?

I’m really excited because it’s garlic scape season - and this recipe puts all those garlic scapes from your garden (or your farmers market haul) to fantastic use! It’s really zesty and creamy and honestly great on salad, as a veggie dip, OR on a nourish bowl. SO many options. I’ve included swaps to make this if you don’t have garlic scapes on hand - but if you’ve never tried them, be sure to pick some up at your local farmers market and try this recipe out!


I’ve been getting garlic scapes in my CSA share from Cedar Grove Organic Farm , and this is what I love to make with them. But they are also delicious just sautéed in some olive oil with salt and pepper… you can’t go wrong.

These Coconut Flour Gluten Free Pancakes are an older recipe on my blog, were in need of some new photos. They are so fluffy and delicious, and definitely my favourite healthy pancake recipe I’ve created. 🥞😍 Here’s the recipe:

Dry Mix
• ¼ cup + 2 tbsp coconut flour
• ¼ cup arrowroot flour
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 pinch Himalayan pink salt
• 1 tbsp Monk fruit sweetener

Wet Mix
• 3 eggs
• ½ cup almond milk (or your choice of dairy free milk)
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tbsp melted coconut oil or other high quality oil such as extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil + a little extra for cooking

Instructions
• Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. In a smaller bowl, mix the wet ingredients.
• Blend the wet and the dry, and let sit for at least 5 minutes. When working with coconut flour always let it sit for a little while after you’ve added liquid because it absorbs a lot of liquid and the batter will get thicker as it sits.
• Heat a cast iron frying pan and melt some coconut oil in it for cooking.
•Use a tablespoon to measure out the pancake batter. I like to add blueberries to the pancakes as they are cooking, but you can add your choice of fruit!
• Top with berries, banana, and maple syrup!
