Incredible work as always! Thanks guys!
We are SO thrilled to have this service at our trial! Thank you Jackie for coming all the way from Lloydminster to take some fabulous shots!
For those attending the first annual MacKenzie Kennels Agility trial - here is some info regarding purchasing pictures - message me.
Run clean, run fast!
Thank you Jackie Tomayer (JD Photography) for the lovely pics as always!
What an incredible first day of trial! Words cannot express how grateful we are to everyone who has come to play, watch and be apart of this moment. Weāre sorry that the live stream wasnāt working. It actually wasnāt the privacy issue. Rather, the go-pro was over heating and shutting down! We will try tomorrow with another method and see if that works.
Well my friends itās here! Please see the following live stream link!

Set up is starting š¤©
'Twas the night before trials, and all through MacDonald Island Park,
Not a dog was in motion, not even a bark.
The tunnels were set and the jumps stood so tall,
In hopes that tomorrow, they'd conquer them all.
The handlers were nestled, all snug in their beds,
With visions of perfect runs dancing in their heads.
And I in my hoody, with my dog by my side,
Had just settled in for a good night's abide.
When out on the field there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew in a dash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The aurora on the grass gave a shimmer so bright,
It revealed a small figure, a dog in mid-flight.
With a wag of its tail and a leap oh so grand,
It was clear this was magic, not just shifting sand.
The dog was agile, quick, and full of grace,
Clearing each hurdle with a smile on its face.
And though it was just a dream, or so it seemed,
It filled us with hope and the joy of our team.
So hereās to the trials and the runs we hold dear,
To the bond with our dogs and the moments of cheer.
For in every course and every jump we take,
We find the true magic in each leap we make.
Happy Trials Everybody! Course maps are now live:

Today's silent auction item is from our friends at Charlie's Choices - Pet Boutique & Supply Store!
Can't wait to see everyone this weekend at the trial!
Who doesn't love some good waypoint finding? For exhibitors, in case you were wondering where parking will be for our trial. Please see the images below. Alternatively, you can select the following pin and it will take you to exactly that spot! https://maps.app.goo.gl/oXrc5rpQx6EGVdYz5
Today's silent auction item is from Shauna at Urban Juniper !
These are all handmade bath bombs, soaps and I even see some lip balm in there!! Shauna will also be one of our vendors at the trial so pop by and check out her amazing creations!
Let's hear it for everyone who ran VT's last week and qualified! We especially want to congratulate Kahlua of Daria and Andrew Van Der Merwe who (in typical agility power-couple fashion) achieved their FIRST NADAC qualifying run!
This is a huge relief for us as weāre set to welcome visitors to the region. Letās get ready to play some agility!
Thanks to the hard work of fire crews and a break in the weather, two of the out of control wildfire complexes in the Fort McMurray Forest Area are now classified as ābeing heldā. The Rabbit Lake Complex, which was detected on July 5 collectively burned over 23,000 hectares and the Algar Complex, which was detected July 10, and collectively burned over 10,000 hectares, are now not anticipated to grow outside expected boundaries. Good morning! Cora here, the silent auction coordinator! I'll be posting pictures of our items to get everyone excited for bidding!!! Remember this silent auction is to benefit the Fort McMurray SPCA and the Wood Buffalo Animal Rescue Committee š¾š¾
Our first item is from The Little Pet Company Ltd.
It's a movie night themed dog treat and toy basket!!! There's pupcorn and ruffffles chips and some Merlot. And to quote the owner "a pooper scooper because you're going to need it after all those treats!"
Thank you to Michael and all the staff at Little Pet!
Who else is getting excited because WE SURE ARE!!! The weather forecast looks nice, the smoke will (hopefully) be gone and everything is falling into place. Eeek! It's getting real.
In case you were wondering, the trial is (and always has been) a go! Like other areas of the province, we too have been managing local wildfires in the region. Should the presence of smoke be too fierce, we will have the large glass garage doors closed and ask that participants bench inside the facility. In the meantime, weāve put together some general rules and housekeeping guides that we would encourage you to read before hand.
We simply cannot wait! Only nine more days!
Itās club day! Jumpers is set. 4:30-6:30

Due to the heat and smoke all classes are cancelled this evening. Sorry folks
Come play with us! Due to some recent entry withdraws, there are roughly 14 spots available for the agility weekend.
Interestingly, our local participation at this trial is huge! Over 65% of the handlers in this trial reside right here in Fort McMurray. Donāt be shy. Weād love to welcome you!š
Itās finally home! Our new Dog Walk, courtesy of Jimmy Steele, finished its nearly five month journey getting to Fort McMurray yesterday. The process of getting this piece of equipment home, (unexpectedly) took a literal NADAC village, and a helluva lot of coordination. What was supposed to be an easy ādrop off and pickupā in Montana, changed quite rapidly due to evacuation, work schedule conflicts and lord knows what else. Weād like to thank Jimmy, Karen McLeod, Lucy Brynes, Audrey Bloxham, Toni Pearce and Karen Debra Allen - all of whom had a hand to play in making this happen!
Club Day
4:30 - 6:30
Well friends, buckle up because this one is a doozy!
Our club is eager to share the sponsor of our Intro Level Top Dog award, and our FINAL Platinum Sponsor, the "OG" herself, Margaret Deane!
Many of you in the NADAC sphere know Margaret from her many years of trialing. For those unaware, let us provide some insight as to who this wonderful woman is, or why this sponsorship is really special!
Margaret is a cornerstone of NADACs presence in our region. Her coaching and instructing over the years has built many, many handlers within Fort McMurray and her legacy continues to this day. It is fair to say without her, there would be no "us".
As the intro level seeks to inspire and challenge handlers to continue building their working relationship with their canine companion. It is fitting that this award be sponsored by someone who has made their mark in our agility community by supporting these values. This sponsorship is truly a "full circle" moment.
Hosting a trial in Fort McMurray has been a long-awaited event for many in our sphere, but among us, no one has waited longer than Margaret. We are so overjoyed with her decision to support this event.
Look for her at our trial! Gate stewarding, timing, bar setting, you know - the fun stuff!
All classes are postponed this evening due to the heat and smoke. Please take care.
ā ļøTRIAL PSAā ļø
This is just a reminder for exhibitors coming to our trial. We do anticipate the temps do be quite high in the facility as the field house is not really climate controlled (AC).
We will have five large industrial fans on site to help move air throughout the facility along with misters and cooling stations.
Exhibitors will have the option to bench either inside or outside at the venue but we want you to plan accordingly. If you need access to electrical outlets for fans, we will do our best to accommodate.
Our official trial poster is here! We're excited to welcome friends, exhibitors, vendors, and spectators to our event August 2-4 at MacDonald Island. Once again, we're so grateful for our sponsors. Without them, this event would not be possible. As our event approaches, we will share more content for our patrons including waypoints, coupons booklets, site information and more!
