Kris Demeanor's Artist Page
Kris Demeanor is a songwriter by trade, a theatre artist by osmosis, and a film actor by accident.
Hi. I know, I tend not enter the swampy hive mind that is Facebook- and I know it can be construed as self-serving to only be present now that there is a wicked cool new video and recording to plug, but I hope to be forgiven, and also hope to use this artist page as a chance to share more info about local music and the many other artists I admire, many of whom are on my upcoming album 'Song for my Father to Fall Asleep to'.
For now, I'd like to share the first release, 'Wolves', a simple fable about a wolf girl who gets captured by town folk, gets a job, hates it, and escapes back to the forest with her friends. It features vocals and accordion by the wonderful Wendy Mcneill, and was recorded in south Glenmore park in Calgary by the extraordinary musician Ella Jean Haggis. Keep an ear out for the bicycle bell. The track was mixed at Lorrie Matheson's legendary Arch Audio, where the rest of the record was produced.
The video is created by Mia Rushton and Eric Moschopedis, two of Calgary's most original and influential artists, and features drawings by the Grade 5/6 classes of Rosemont School, and live action scampering and howling by our friend and fellow Sunnyhill Co-op resident, Bean.
Enjoy 'Wolves'. The recording is available on all the streaming sites now as well. Thanks, Kris
