The Fort City Kinettes have been hosting events and fundraising celebrations in Thunder Bay for almost 82 years! They have hosted The Royal Ball, worked Bingos, and made butter tarts all in support of creating a positive impact in our community, and serving the community’s greatest need.

Today, on Giving Tuesday, members for the Fort City Kinette Club are thrilled to present a donation of $5,000 to George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation in support of the Give the Gift of Voice Campaign!

“George Jeffrey Children’s Centre is a staple in the community,” says President Michelle Woods-Barstead. “Our club members are aware of the amazing, positive impact they have had, and continue to have on children and their families in Thunder Bay and area.”

This generous gift will go directly to supporting the purchase of two specialized speech-generating iPads, and two state-of-the-art eye gaze cameras. The Augmentative Communication Program at George Jeffrey Children’s Centre, and these cutting-edge technologies are lifelines for both children and adults as this program supports clients who require assistance to communicate – they literally give them a voice!

The Fort City Kinettes have personally seen the impact of George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation through the many services which have allowed children to reach their greatest potential. Each child has an individualized plan with a team of specialists so that their needs are addressed, and that has really resonated with their group of volunteers.

The Fort City Kinettes have a proud history of giving in our community, with support going to many local organizations. They have been a major supporter of George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation, donating more than $18,000 over the years!

Calling all Royalty .... You are cordially invited to the Thunder Bay Royal Ball presented by The Fort City Kinettes!

This magical event will be held Sunday, April 30, 2023, at the Davinci Center in the Michelangelo Ball Room. The Ball will run from 1 pm to 4 pm and will feature many activities, including: a luncheon, ice cream bar, penny and silent auction, crafts, dancing, and more!

Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at JB Evans, Bill Martin’s Nurseryland, or from any Fort City Kinette. Everyone is welcome and dressing up is encouraged.

This wonderful afternoon will be held in support of Cystic Fibrosis and the Fort City Kinettes.

We look forward to entertaining you as you mingle with princesses and princes during this magical time. We greatly appreciate your support!

The Fort City Kinettes are once again doing a Butter Tart Sale. They can be purchased by the half dozen for $7.00. They can be ordered with or without raisins.
All orders can be made through any Fort City Kinette member and payment can be done in cash, by cheque or by e-transfer. All orders must be paid for in advance. We are going to be baking on November 26 and pick ups will be arranged on or following that date.

Beer FUNdraiser: Fort City Kinettes - Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. The Fort City Kinettes work to better our community and serve the needs of organizations in Thunder Bay.

Today myself (Wendy Woodgate) and Joe Woodgate of the Hill City Kinsmen delivered 67 bags filled with food for Isthmus. The bags are delivered to schools and given to students in need. Proud to be kin and helping our community.

Thank you everyone who supported our fundraiser. We had a fabulous day of baking. Thank you Grace Place for the use of your kitchen and thank you Twin City Refreshments for your donation. Also big thank you to our anonymous donors also. We baked a total of 130 dozen today.

Our act of kindness was for one of our own. In December Bob Thompson fell and broke his neck and Barb hurt her hip trying to help him. Our club has been helping with home cooked meals for our own Kin Family. ❤️ Happy to report Barb and Bob are on the mend.
