Thanks to our Sarnia Products Pipeline System (SPPL) team for entering an Imperial-branded float in the 2023 Flamborough Santa Claus Parade in Waterdown, Ontario. The SPPL team procured, designed and constructed the float themselves, and the final product looked amazing!

Indspire is an Indigenous-led national charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people and helps break down barriers for Indigenous youth as they pursue education to achieve their highest potential.

Since 2003, we have provided more than $1.8 million to support Indspire’s mission and have helped build brighter futures for more than 500 Indigenous students with scholarships or bursaries as they pursue further education.

How are we working to reduce the intensity of oil sands greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2030, compared to 2016 levels?

One of the major contributors to our efforts was the recent start up of the sixth and final boiler flue gas unit at Kearl. The units capture waste heat from a boiler’s combustion exhaust to preheat process water, resulting in less steam usage and lower GHG emissions.

Imperial participated in 10 university career fairs and hosted information sessions at seven colleges across Canada from September through November, and we're delighted to welcome more than 200 students through 2024 into various departments. In 2019, we started remediation activities at our Tuk Base site in the Northwest Territories. As part of the remediation efforts, the team was able to use approximately 1,600 tonnes of treated soil from on-site as backfill. The soil was treated using a bioremediation process that remediates contaminated soil to levels that are suitable for use as backfill. This Veterans’ Week, we pause and honour those who served and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace. Thank you to our Veterans’ Advocacy Support Team for organizing Imperial's Veterans' Week Remembrance Service which was held on Indigenous Veterans Day. The service included military veterans from within Imperial, as well as special guests from the Canadian Forces. 🍁

Imperial recently hosted our company-wide Take Our Kids To Work Day where students from grades 9-11 job-shadowed their parents. The day included sessions with different departments as well as a lunch and giveaways. Thanks to everyone who participated!
