The CREATE Lab at McGill’s Faculty of Education is looking for volunteers to participate in a paid research study. The purpose of this study is to understand more about how (and why) teachers use technologies when teaching secondary mathematics. We are recruiting 100 high school math teachers in Canada to complete a questionnaire about technology integration. Participants must be secondary math teachers in Canada, but extensive use of instructional technologies is not required! Sectorial agreement was accepted, I believe that intersectional has as well but I am not 100% sure.

As you know, the current round of provincial negotiations led to agreements in principle both at the sectoral and intersectoral levels. It is now time for each local union to bring the content of these tentative agreements to you, the members, for ratification at a general assembly. For your information, QPAT’s local unions will be holding their general assemblies between Monday, January 22nd and Friday, February 2nd, 2024, and you shall be notified of the date and time of your assembly by your local union in the coming week.

Prior to your local general assemblies, we wish to inform you that QPAT will hold two (2) virtual information sessions (one in English and one in French) next week where François Breault, our chief negotiator, will present the content of the agreement in principle. This should give you sufficient time to review it before a vote is held at your local assemblies. The presentation will be mostly informational and there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions at specific times. While François will attempt to answer as many questions as possible during the session, bear in mind that you will also have the chance to ask questions at your respective general assembly prior to the vote.

The information sessions will be held on YouTube Live on Wednesday January 17th (English) and Thursday January 18th, 2024 (French). The supporting documentation and the link will be emailed to you by your local union prior to the meeting.

Comme vous le savez, la présente ronde de négociations provinciales a mené à des ententes de principe tant au niveau sectoriel qu'intersectoriel. Il est maintenant temps pour chaque syndicat local de vous présenter à vous, les membres, le contenu de ces ententes de principe pour ratification lors d'une assemblée générale. Pour votre information, les syndicats locaux de l'APEQ tiendront leurs assemblées générales entre le lundi 22 janvier et le vendredi 2 février 2024. Cela devrait vous donner suffisamment de temps pour l'examiner avant qu'un vote n'ait lieu lors de vos assemblées locales. La présentation sera principalement informationnelle et vous aurez l'occasion de poser des questions à des moments précis. Bien que François tentera de répondre au plus grand nombre de questions possible au cours de la séance, gardez à l'esprit que vous aurez également la possibilité de poser des questions lors de votre assemblée générale respective avant le vote.
